Dallas is the 9th ranked defense
10th against the pass
16th against the rush

12th ranked offense
11th rushing
10th passing

If anyone thinks this defense is even average, let alone 9th is just crazy. Look at at starting field position for the Niners. They didn't have to drive the field to score otherwise they would have put up a lot more yards. And they played it very conservatively in the second half. We still had issues trying to stop them. We stacked up against the run, still had issues stopping it and gave up some very key third down pass plays.

When this defense plays against a real QB and the offense isn't just handing away points, it will get torched.

What I can't figure out is why the Cowboys abandoned the running game once they get in the red zone. Is that on Romo?

Jerry stated this morning that the play Romo got sacked on down by the goal line, forcing them for a field goal, was Romo checking out of a run play and into a pass play. The problem was that no one got the call. The line still run blocked.

Teams know he does this. They will give him a look that makes it appear they will be overloading the gaps or bringing an extra guy and simply shift out of it post snap. Thats why you do what you do. You dictate to a defense. This offense has never dictated to a defense. It always takes what the defense shows. And we all know its easy to to play those games.

What kind of scares me is that the HC seems to be on the outside looking in. Jerry defended Romo's decision to change the goal line play that resulted in the pick and when the HC was asked about it he no commented.

What was Garrett supposed to say? Should he have just agreed with the owner? Should he have said the owner was wrong?

No, I would have said no comment just like he did.

Jerry is the one that should shut up here... not the HC.

We still should have run on that play. With the investment in our OL that is very disappointing. I understand all the blah blah blah Romo gave us about there was a player in the gap for the play we had called. But still we should have ran the ball. If we wouldn't have gained 3' for a 1st down there was always 3rd down. The way we were running the ball up to that point it's hard to imagine us not getting enough for a 1st down (or possibly a TD) instead.

Garrett's usually pretty open with the media and will give an answer even if it is the textbook one. Just seemed a little fishy. And I wholeheartedly agree that JJ should STHU.
