Only way to win is to build a great defense

You are not going to outscore the Chiefs.
They have a HOF QB, a HOF TE, a HOF WR, and one of the best offensive coaches ever.
Bills tried to outscore them and they couldnt.
Tampa won last year because of their defense. Mahomes was helped against their front, constantly pressured and was scrambling for his life every play.
Cowboys always try to build these "offensive" teams without getting a strong defense and never works.
Cowboys have spent so much on offense yet have mediocre players compared to KC.

 

I partially agree, but when you have Dak as a QB, you’re forced to have all stars around him on offense just to function. Unless they fix the o-line and run game, a great defense won’t really matter imo

 

Bills had the #1 defense this year, KC fixed their O-line something the Cowboys should do at least C and LG

Cowboys had the #1 offense and are at home watching the remainder of the playoffs. Bills had the #1 defense, and are now out of the tournament as well. Just goes to show you being #1 in certain stats don't mean squat!!

 

Build the 85 Bears defense here in Dallas and we might stand a chance

 

Our D is serviceable right now so I think you rebuild the offensive line to improve the run game and take some of the pressure off Dak. After fixing the offensive line then I think you look hard at building the D with some picks and FA. There are going to be some tough cuts (DLaw, Cooper and maybe Zeke) and some restructuring but it can be done.

 

The issue isn't having talent. The issue is utilization of said talent.

We have a paid No. 1 WR that doesn't get targeted. Why?

We draft DTs in low rounds. Then can't understand why we can't stop the run. Why?

We have two solid Running Backs. But don't run the ball with consistency. Why?

The interior of the Oline is bad (Minus Zach) yet we run inside alot. Why?

We have talent but not in the right places.

 

Disagree. Thinking in terms of top 15 defenses, Cowboys ranked 7th. This is higher than the remaining teams in the playoffs.

I won't say ignore defense but today's NFL requires you score to win. They won't allow 85 Bears or 2000 Ravens type defenses to tee off on teams and/or knocking out QBs.

Case in point. We watched our Cowboys march into Arrowhead Stadium and hold the great Pat Mahomes to 19 points. Problem was, we scored only 9 points.

You gotta score.

Yep…..you nailed it. It’s why I had been saying defense will determine how far we go.

 

No different for mahomes or Brady. They all need stars and great teams around them, guys like mahomes just need a little less.

 

Our defense played KC great.

It was the offence that didn't play its part. Coud only muster 3 FGs!

 

no its not our defense was good enough SCORE MORE points..,the offense came up short the last few games against the better teams..BIlls had great defense and couldn't even slow Mahomes much.. 17 points won't cut it.ask Josh allen lol

our defense got better as the year progressed, offense got worse against the Better defenses, need to score more..best way to achieve that not 14 penalties and mistakes along the OL that kill drives!!

 

Defensive can get you to the Super Bowl, but more times than not elite QBs will win you the Super Bowl.

 

One more defensive draft should set up that side of ball for the next few years. Fix the run game, and add to the defense.

 

Seems like they thought the playoffs were going to be a cake walks. Maybe getting punched in the mouth could be a wake up call? But the “#1 offense” was a facade!

 

But only w/ a Defense.
