In related news, CB Micah Pellerin is back on the practice squad. DE Lavar Edwards placed on injured reserve-practice squad to make room; another spot will open up once Boatright is activated.

If Boatright is activated does that mean Jakar back to inactive?

Hamilton will most likely be inactive with Jeff Heath returning this week. I doubt we'll see Boatright play anytime soon. It's possible Dallas is adding him to the 53 because another team has started to show interest (like Ronald Leary a couple years ago).

It is also possible that we are going heavy on DL because the Eagles ran us ragged there last time -- even with the long break for the half, the DL was winded

Problems is being able to rotate since Philly is going fast pace. You almost have to wait for an opportunity to rotate guys in.

Very good point. And Demarcus Lawrence is coming back from a rib injury, too.

From my understanding, it was a pre-cautionary move. Some teams have been interested in Boatright.

I really don't see why you wouldn't "script" some rotation early - rather than waiting on down and distance to match up (which is hard to do anyway) - just have a rotation built in for the first 10 or so plays of each half - if nothing else, you can cut down on some of the problems with guys getting winded.

Can gassed defensive players take a knee without fear of a penalty or being charged with a timeout?

Against 1st team? Well active roster you are getting more in game reps and situations.

I don't believe a single NFL rules exists that would prevent it.

If the move was made to protect the player, and not because they plan to play him, I doubt his practice routine changes at all.
