He messed up when he assumed that talent didn't matter, only his scheme

He's really showing that he is a college coach. The Eagles front office is pretty patient so I would suspect it would take a lot for him to actually get fired after the season. Regardless, if he doesn't swallow his pride and change his offense to fit his big money back, I could see a real scenario where the Eagles just eat Murray's salary after this year. It wouldn't be the first time a team gave up on a player after one season and if Kelly is still around, he will want a scapegoat.

I think Kelly just straight messed up.

I am not one of those guys that thought Philly would be all world. They lost a lot of players this year and anytime you have that much turnover its going to be a problem. And if your Oline isnt up to par, you cant to much on offense.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Biggest mistake was giving Kelly control over personnel. Practically every move he has made is blowing up in his face. They even extended several of their terrible OL in the last few weeks.

Fly Eagles fly on the road to misery.

How long before the rumors of Chip being replaced over the bye week. Maybe we need to flood the Philly website and radio station with a "save chip" campaign.

It's 2 games into the season. I can't stand Kelly, but the Seachickens are 0-2 as well and they are/were heavy superbowl favorites. I do hope the eagles' trend continues though, but I'm not at the point where I'm taking them for granted either.

It's going to be difficult to fire Chip now. The Eagles front office has virtually given him exclusive power to reshape the offense and the roster. He's going to need time to accomplish his plan. You simply can't make that radical of a change and expect instant success. You have to give it time. So either the Eagles are committed to Chip's way and hope it works out in the next few years or they fire him and then begin an enormous rebuilding program because he has essentially purge the roster of top players.
It's an interesting dilemma, to say the least.

ive said it here before and i'll say it again, i always love when the media labels a coach a genius before his first game. that is a death sentence for failure

This.

In fairness, Kelly in his first two seasons took a 4 win team and won 20 games with them (and a lot of those wins with Buttfumble at QB). It's only when they gave him control over the groceries that the restaurant imploded.

Oh and I'll leave this here as Exhibit A:

The Eagles look terrible but it's premature to write them or the Giants off now Romo is down and Dez is out. Cowboys will likely drop the next two games.
