The cowboys could bring their B game to Pats so that the pats wouldn't be able to fully guage cowboys later for a possible superbowl?

That's a possibility. But how do they disguise the Chicago game? And the Miami game? The Giants game was basically a combination of the subsequent two games of offense, with Witten and T.O doing the damage.

Then after the St. Louis game, with both Witten and T.O. shut down, Crayton absolutely kills the Rams defense.

So now, what kind of offense does Jason take to Buffalo? It's going to be something else. There is going to be another breakout performance by someone who hasn't lit up the board yet. Hurd? I don't think so. I'm looking for a lot of screen passes to Barbarian and Jones. I think Marion will be used to catch some short passes over the middle like they used to throw to Emmitt, and Jones is going to be the outside swing and screen pass target. With the three WRs/tight ends clearing out the underneath, look for the running backs to have nothing but daylight.

Jason will want Belicheat to have to game plan for everything.

Huh?

I'm stunned that anyone would even post that question.

Not certain, but I think he may be making a play on the foreskins'claim that they intentionally played other teams poorly early in order to "surprise" us when our game came up. You remember that claim by the skins don't you?

That's the dumbest thing I ever heard... I apologize if that was rude. No team would tank a game in order to gain a strategic advantage later. C'mon!!! It sounds like a lame excuse for losing if you ask me.

Could you imagine the hoots and howls if Jerry was to ever say
"Ha! Gotcha' we Meant to lose!":lmao:

sounds like skins fan in the preseason talking about how they are not showing their offense... games like this remind me of what jimmy johnson used to say.. if you are going to fight a big gorilla, you don't ever hit him lightly, you give him everything you've got. bring on the pats!

There should be a voting option on every thread, such that every thread that receives at least 100 deletion votes is deleted.

I have to agree with this post with respect of course..... No way should or would a team risk throwing a game to hide what they are in case of future game. There will be games all year that you cannot hide, and frankly losing even 1 game would be dumb if you do not have to.

Using that logic, Pats have the same issues to worry about.

Sorry, but Cowboys better bring it and that I believe they will.

Man, what a great idea.

Honestly, can we just all write a "please delete" post on this thread to get it started?

It's so far off base that it's almost insulting.

Yeah, let's throw this one, just in case we might see them again in the super bowl.

No offense, but that is the most ******** thing I have ever heard. We are going to intentionally tank a game knowing it may cost us homefield advantage.

The only time a team "tries to lose on purpose" is when they suck and try to throw LATE SEASON games (not in week 5!!!) in order to better their draft position.

Nobody in the NFL will ever admit to doing it, but it was a fairly common practice in the NBA. That is why the NBA went to a lottery instead of straight record drafting.

Gibbs intentionally lost the game against the Giants last week as part of his long-term strategy.

And not to derail this amazing thread more than it already is, but because teams couldn't play honestly, you end up with situations like Tim Duncan being drafted by a team that only missed the playoffs the previous year because David Robinson was injured. And now you have a dynasty created because of a lottery system.

The best drafting system is the one the NFL has. The moment teams start throwing games is the moment more rules have to be put in place that hurt in the long run.
