Opinion: Norv back to Dallas?

Norv is a heck of a coordinator! Not a great head coach but the man can call an offensive game plan.

I could see him bringing a balanced attack to our offense. I think we'd see the OU version of DM29 if Norv returned. He has, what 1,073 yards on 5+ ypg when mostly it's been the Air Romo show? Imagine if he had 20-25 carries/game like he should have. Romo wouldn't have taken as many hits as he has if he were handing the ball off more.

Good points.................we need to limit the hits on Romo going forward and make Murray a key part of this offense...............Norv will do that.

If Jerry wants him he'll be here. Garrett has zero say in the matter.

If I was Norv, I'd know there's a very real chance of me being the HC the following season with the Cowboys. I would think that's much more appealing that the Browns.

Exactly....................Norv would be in a great position to replace Garrett, especially if the offense plays well under him.

Norv refused to come here if Garrett was going to be his OC and call plays
He sure as heck ain't coming here to be opie's OC

You could do a lot worse for an OC but I don't like it. I want someone outside the vertical offense to come in and add some more diversity.

I don't think Garrett's fragile psyche could handle that or he'd already be here.

There was the deal when he was neck and neck with Phillips for the head coaching job and Garrett was already hired as offensive coordinator. Supposedly he wanted to have the ability to call plays.

Right, Galloway is buddies with Norv and he said Jerry insisted Garrett call plays. Norv said no, Jason wasn't ready for that. So Jerry went a different direction.

Galloway also said last year when Norv was on the market that he didn't want to come here, that he didn't like all the circus.

Didn't he have the opportunity last year but declined? I don't think he's really that desperate to come back here. If Jerry wanted him then he should have hired him instead of Wade in 2007. Both had their weaknesses as head coaches but maybe Norv could have been great for Romo
