This time of year NBC has capability to flex games with playoff team or teams who are very much in the hunt .

There’s many great matchups today with teams already in top 7 of each conference they’d of normally flexed to and placed Dallas in Noon or 3:25 slot.

But the Cowboys even at 6-6-1 against a team basically eliminated with Vikes at 5-8 means ratings , only cause it’s the Cowboys not because this a game with pertinent playoff implications.

This was discussed several days ago .. the networks have to notify the NFL 12-14 days ahead of time and at that time, the Cowboys were 6-5-1 and were on a 3 game winning streak.

Sure, it's the Cowboys and those games are rarely going to be flexed out but their record and trending made it an easy decision back then.

For Sunday Night Football games from Weeks 5-13, the league must provide 12 days notice before flexing. That time period is reduced to six days for Sunday Night Football games from Weeks 14-18.

I guess that changes the discussion?

This is week 15 which only requires 6 days notice . Which means we had already lost to Lions reducing our playoff chances to 8%. Basically all but knocked out barring a total collapse from Egirls.

And with so many great games with definite playoff implications today could have flexed the Cowboys game with 2 non winning record teams .

The NFL has put the Cowboys in prime time more this year than I can ever remember.
It's the only reason the Cowboys have six wins and a tie.
The NFL will not allow a blowout in prime time. Most games go down to the final seconds, where one team wins with a field goal.
Looks like fans would have noticed how rigged it is.
Before the last few years there were regular blowouts, and the advertisers were getting mad. And now the gambling sites have a say.
I think they would allow a blowout if the Cowboys did it.

A 0.500 Cowboys team is always the best for business. If they're too bad, the fans stop caring. If they're too good then there's not enough for both fans and national media to critique. But when they're hovering around 0.500 and every game is must-win to try to make the playoffs, that's the sweet spot.

All totally unfounded speculation and conspiracy theories. No facts or evidence can you provide.

Cowboys are only team in NFL the league wouldn’t have flexed tonight for several games today with more playoff implications. All because of ratings. Booooooooooo

Have you or do you know of any statistically breakdown of prime time score differentials vs non prime games? I'm genuinely curious if there's any data on this.

Either way I hate the prime time slot.

I generally don’t watch those games anymore because it makes for a rough Monday at work.
