Personally, I think the theory that you need a change of pace "thumper" type of back instead of another DeMarco Murry is flawed. I think a two back rotation should have two similar backs so that the game plan doesn't have to change that much from play to play or series to series.
I think you can have a "lightening" type of back who is a lot smaller and great at catching passes out of the backfield on third down who would never stand up to the pounding that an every down back would face. But that's about it.
If you get a thumper as your change of pace back to Murray and Murray goes down you have to revamp the theory of your offense to fit the thumper type of back for the games Murray is out. We should be dictating what we want to defenses, and not vice versa.
