Orton with 46 attempts

It should have been a foot to the right and Romo would have been crucified for the same pass. Not a single person here would have been calling out Witten for it.

Not true at all. I remember Romo throwing a pass to Witten earlier in the season that was very poorly thrown and Witten had to do a 180 to have an attempt to catch it... and he had a defender all over him, the ball ended up hitting him in the numbers... everyone on here blamed Witten, not Romo. I personally put more of the blame on Romo for that badly thrown ball but also gave Witten some of the blame. Tonight, that pass to Witten was very catchable, Witten made a LAZY attempt at catching it and it led to the INT.

LOL, ok dude. This place is certainly known for its objectivity and rationality :)

I'm going to agree to disagree with you on that one considering how much crap Romo took for the exact same pass against GB.

Wasn't the exact same pass but whatever. You are certainly free to disagree and I'm fine with that.

I'm sorry, the running game had diminishing returns as the game went on. We ran the stretch play over and over again, eventually the Eagles started making 2 yard stops and forcing the gameplan to change a bit.

Only a few times during the game should I think they should have the ran ball.

Finally Mccoy is one of the best backs in the league and he had gaping holes unlike Murray.

The problem with the running game was the last 7 runs totaled 9 yards. That's getting pretty much unusable there. The Eagles figured out how to stop our rushing attack and we went away from it.

You still don't completely abandon the run making yourself one-dimensional. The defense knew a pass was coming every play.

Meh. it was a two point game late. Should they have run it more to show it? Probably but let's not act like we could have done what the Eagles did. It wasn't there after the first few series.

The packers game? That is the game to be upset about the run.

Maybe these highly paid coaches should have designed a few more running plays or screens?

Well when the idiot has only 5 running plays he is willing to try, what do you expect? We all know he cannot make in game adjustments.

I don't remember it being the same but I am happy to look at the tape of the Austin INT and discuss it. Do you have it?

The pass is slightly behind Austin, and in this case instead of bouncing off the receiver's arm the CB is fast enough to close and make the play on the pick.

Of course the big difference is that Orton would have been sacked on that play without a doubt and never thrown the ball, so its a bit of pick your poison.. :)

orton had 358 yards passing.

untimely pick.

all in all I think he played better than what romo would have

Bs

That was by far our lowest scoring game all year at home.
Romo put up 30 easily today with the way the Oline and D(extra possessions) was playing

That's not even close to the same. On this play, Romo throws off balance, with nothing on the ball and doesn't lead Austin who clearly has his man beaten if the ball is simply laid out a bit. On the play today, the ball bounces off Witten's shoulder pad because he fails to open his hips and put his body in the proper position to make the play. The DB does not cut under the pass and make a play on it. The ball bounces off Witten's Arm/Shoulder and is then intercepted. This is not the same play or placement at all.

But you are correct, Orton would have been sacked on that play, IMO. However, I would take a sack over an INT any day. JMO

How do you figure? Orton threw 360 yards at 65% completion percentage. 1 pick was completely on witten.

I would not say by far. In the Vikings game, we only scored 27 points at home.

Hey, you never know.
But this was by far the lowest scoring home game all year for us.
The defense actually made the punt several times, yet we only came away with 22.
We've scored over 30 at home every ga,e but one this year with fewer punts by the opposing team.
But you are correct, nobody knows for sure.

I like I said , I think Orton did just fine under the circumstances.
Both picks were behind the payer, but Witten (who was Ortons savior all game) could have caught that one bad throw. Look back at any of Tonys very limited number of picks this year and you coud say the same thing. He only had 10 in 15 games. Kyle had 2 in just one game. But again, he did ok...IMO
