Alittle off topic, but the off season is slow.

Big news in the Big Apple. Michael Strahan and his ex wife are fighting over who spent more money. His wife spent something like $500,000 on the kids, and he spent something like $2 mil on cars.

I guess the argument was who was justified in spending and who wasn't.

While both are extremely excessive, I have to side with Michael. He's bringing home the bacon, putting his health on the line with every snap, endures massive hardships to earn his pay.

I'm here surfing the net on an engineer's salary, I'm in no position to question the spending habits of millionaire NFL players. But I would side with him on this case ... it's his money, let him play with it.

As for his wife ... typical woman over-indulging her kids for her own inadequacies as a mother. Overload the kids with massive amounts of material goods they don't need or appreciate ... and mom thinks she's making them happy.

I'll do my best for my daughter, but no way, can I justify half a mil on clothing for them. Sorry ... someone needs to put a leash on this lady.

Ok, just my rambling for the day.

Wish I had $2 mil to spend on cars and $500,000 to spend on baby clothing.

2 Words to his wife. "TAKE HALF"- Eddie Murphy RAW:starspin

Don't laugh ... I think they have something like 4 estate homes.

She's definitely getting half.

All this because Michael found another, younger hottie he'd rather be with. Man, that's some seriously expensive piece of a**.

He got his nose more open than the gap in the middle of his tooth.

So, question for the panel ... who's justified in their spending?

Dunno.

If I am ever to the point where I have that much money (from my own personal salary), I would spend the $500,000 on my kids before I spend $2 million on my cars. I dunno what I'd buy them, toys, clothes, etc....take family vacations, spend as much time with them as possible, etc...but spending $2 million on cars would be near the bottom of the list. Kids, Wife, Parents, Family would be at the top....

But that's just me.

Strahan will probably be broke before he's 40. Spending $2M on cars and having an expensive wife to boot? Unfortunately for him, even his $18M signing bonus he got a few years ago is not and endless sea of money that allows him to indulge every whim.

Guys like him wind up doing no-name credit card commercials or - if they can speak - in broadcasting.

Neither of them. They're both fools if they're carelessly blowing through their millions like that.

They both are, they both had that type of money to spend.

Strahan spent it on cars he would probably not drive, and his wife spent it on clothes and accessories for the kids they probably do not need.

Both uselessly equal to me

Johnnie Taylor wrote a song called "It's Cheaper To Kee Her", Strahan should head his advice.

I seriously doubt she spend $500k on clothes for just the kids. It was probably more like 10K for the kids and 490k on herself :D

Kind of, but at least the cars will likely fetch at least half of the paid price back. Clothes will definetly not.

Co-Incidently, I have had some tiffs with my wife about spending for kids. I agree with Eddie in it seems like, its kind of guilt conscious thing with women or at least I know for my wife, since she is full time employed woman herself. But Strahan's wife doesn't seem to be employed woman?

Although I would probably never spend that much on cars or on anything for myself, so I kind say both are kind of wrong ( heck I make my wife so guilty about me not buying anything for myself, my wish list usually gets approved immediatly or bought by her:) ).

Former major league player Jack Clark went bankrupt, spending most of his $ on something like 20 classic cars.

Unless you know what you're doing, they're not exactly a wise investment.

I saw the breakdown in the Daily News day ... man, I wish I had a copy with me. But the $500K was on a ton of stuff. Clothing, classes, swimming, soccer ... still not sure how that adds up to half a mil though.

Michael had a Bentley and some other expensive car. Do Bentley's cost a $1 mil ???

The cars will probably depreciate massively. Not sure there's a big market on for Bling Bling'd Bentleys. Maybe can sell it to a teammate or something. ha ha

As for the wife's children clothing ... she can probably get some of it back on ebay. Just have Michael autograph each article of clothing, and she may get back a few dollars (minus the shipping). ha ha
