Other Potential Cuts?

Given that the team has decided to move on from Patmon, any other potential cuts you guys could see coming? Once we're mathematically eliminated, makes some sense to cut guys who are free agents this year in order to pluck guys off other teams practice squads. Danny McCray, James Hanna maybe, Charles Brown if Chaz Green is healthy, etc. And of course Hardy, but that may be more a financial thing if it happens.

Depends on the FA. If released and claimed, or released outright, then we would not possibly get a comp pick as if a FA after the end of the season.

I'd jettison Wilcox, Hayden, Mcclain, Free, Street, Cassel.

Let the PS guys play and secure 1st pick

Honestly....any player will do JUST as good as these players, sans McClain (when he wants to show up)

It's a little late to be releasing players. One here and there is OK but we may as well play them until this nightmare is over.

Other than a few churn type players, they won't find anyone that they couldn't figure out if they belong or not during TC.
But still play some players already on team to look at. Maybe a guy off a PS, to replace those that may not be here, like the Patmons.

Not the McCLAINS OR Hayden type. They still have value, and if for anything, getting a mop pick if the sign elsewhere. A comp pick that can be traded in 2017.

The league likely would strongly discourage us from releasing Hardy. The last thing they want is a contender picking him up and having him be a story throughout the post-season.

Interesting, never thought about that possibility.

You still have to field a team, even if they're eliminated... smh

I would venture to guess that there are a few practice squadders around the league who could be more impressive in the final 2 or 3 games then guys like Hanna, McCray, etc., might be their only chance to show they belong.

Plus it is a competitive balance issue - this is why the trade deadline in every league exists - you don't want already successful teams bringing in more talent. Plus, that sort of behavior sends a really poor message to the team - "look out, if we are out of the race you might get cut so we don't have to pay you"

McCray and Brown of those you mentioned.

Tyler Clutts should be on the top of that list.

For real. The last time I've seen a fullback try to block a player, not move him an inch, and proceed to clog the hole up so no one can run through it, on such a consistent basis, I was watching my old high school football tape.
