Other Rookie RB Camp news

I'm curious about some of the news coming out of the other Rookie camps.

Any news on Stewart, Ray Rice, Mcfadden?

We know Mendenhall got hurt right away.

I'll start with some stuff on Chris Johnson.

It sounds like the Titans are drooling over him after a few practices....especially the new OC and the other skill players. Of course, it is WAY too early.

"Rookie RB Chris Johnson showed in his first OTA some of the speed which landed him as pick #24 of the first round. "He’s an amazing athlete and he’s got amazing speed. I can probably say he’s the fastest person I’ve ever lined up again," said rookie LB Stanford Keglar, who played in the Big Ten. "It’s great to be on his team and to have that guy on my team instead of him being on the other sideline." Titans OC Mike Heimerdinger plans on using Johnson as much as possible in his offense this season as he was used in East Carolina. Johnson was the fastest player at the NFL Combine with a 4.24 time in the 40-yard dash"

"I'm going to say his speed is called ridiculous. I'm just one of those guys that can run a little bit. But if you give him any little thing, he can go,'' (LaVelle) Hawkins said."

“We were out there making up routes,’’ Heimerdinger said. “I’ve never had a guy that can do (things Johnson can). … You need to be able to take advantage of the guy because he can do so many things. We’ll just see what he can handle.’’

It would be interesting to see how three careers of the 3 RBs ,Felix,Mendenhall and CJ turn out-They were taken 22-23-24 and their careers would be forever linked.

Kevin Smith at Detroit will be their bell cow this year and could rack up a ton of yards, and Matt Forte at Chicago will probably unseat Benson.

where Chris Johnson was taken, or where Felix Jones was taken, was a more appropos spot for Bush

it is amusing how a NFL coordinator would come right out and bash a player on someone else's team

It may be turn out that one of them--along with McFadden-- end up with the most rookie rushing years, just because of the possible workload.

LOL. It would help if CJ actually played an NFL season before the OC making an eval like that. Like I said, maybe after coaching against Bush for years, he wanted to get a gig in against an old rival. Of course, he would know more than any of us...but it seems like a giant stretch this early.

Bush is still pretty good. He just is better in a 2 back system. Let's not forget what Bush did to us as a RB and a returner.

Of course I was hoping we would get CJ but I'm satisfied with The Choice.

Bush is overrated? Right.

Reggie Bush is overrated. That doesn't mean that this rookie will be better than him. Bush was drafted to do what Maurice Jones-Drew does for Jacksonville and drafted much higher to boot. He hasn't done that up to this point. That makes Bush overrated.

i have to agree....bush is overrated. don't look at what he did in college...look at what he is in the nfl.
