Giants linebacker Chase Blackburn was cleaning out his ears with a cotton swab after Sunday night's game against Eagles when a reporter bumped into him.

You'll never believe what happened next.

Well, he's not very informed is he?

The only thing that you shoud try and clean your ears with is your elbow...try that!

If you need to clean your ears, buy some wax removal from the drug store...and NEVER put anything in your ears...well...except your elbow...if you can.

I bet you don't have any children. Why do you think Q-tips are made exactly? To clean the ear.

Now I don't condone drilling to the core w/ one but still.

A person needs to regularly keep his/hers ears clean.

Especially children.

Saying that.

That sucks. My son was messing w/ a Q-tip when he was about a year and half old. He was in the laundry basket rocking back n forth on our bed. I didn't see that he had a Q-tip in his ear. Then he fell over onto it. Then the blood came. Then the screaming came.

He sliced the ear canal down to the drum and perferated the drum. One 911 call and an ambulance ride later. We all were better. Kids are unstoppable. Amazing little creations.

Talk about freakin out. I was beside myself w/ panic. It's freakin hard to keep a clear head when there is so much screaming and blood pouring from your child.

Spooky

I have kids and what did I just say! YOU DON'T PUT Q-Tips in your ear, just like you experienced with your kid...

If you out there want to stick a Q-Tip in your ears, have at it...because most of the time you are not cleaning out nothing, you are just shoving more crap INTO your ear canal...

Q-Tips have some purpose, but not for cleaning out your ears...you can clean the inside of our ear with a washclothe...but the inside? Never...! Get some ear wax removal kit...

My doctor told me Q-Tips actually just push the wax back...

When I was 19, I almost totally lost hearing.. I went to the doctor - (I had used q-tips my entire life), he said my entire ear was practically full of wax.

He made me buy this thing.. it's almost like what you clean a babys nose out with(honestly... except the tip isn't as long, it's like maybe 1/2 inch) - I forget the name, but you fill it up with warm water + peroxide, and spray it gently in your ear.. and wax just flows out when you do it

That Q-tip stuff is dangerous.. whew.

What's spooky is even after having that experience you still insist on sticking q-tips in your children's ear. Well, spooky is the polite word. I won't say what I really think about it.

My dad is one of those that likes to go drilling for oil in his ear with a q-tip.

Long story short, one day he was cleaning his ear when he got a phone call...

You all can figure out the rest.

If you read the packaging on Q-Tips it says clearly not to put them in the ear. You should be careful if you are using them on your kids.

My little brother found this out the hard way as well... He would just shove q-tips in his ear relentlessly until one evening he scratched his ear drum with one... Well he did it just the right way and it threw off his equilebrium (sp). He went to the ER after passing out twice and while examining him they had to do a RECTAL EXAM..... They said it was to make sure there wasnt any internal bleeding.... I know this may seem far fetched from just a scratch but its 100% true... Needless to say when the Dr. came in and said he was going to have to check him for that I couldnt hold my laughter in..I was crying from laughing so hard.. Ive told everyone I know about this and cant wait to bring it up at his wedding... I love this story...

So go ahead use those q-tips all you want. Im sticking to bobby pins and ear wax removal.:lmao2:
