Our 2017 salary cap situation sucks, right?

The cap will go up as usual and projections are it will go up around 10 million. Tony will still be on the team in 2017. Can't believe anyone would think differently. Witten probably does retire. There will as always cuts and restructures but they will not be Tony or Witten that are restructured. Everyone always worries that we won't get under the cap or not enough to sign the free agents we want, we being fans. Clearly free agents of big money are not what Dallas goes after anymore. 12th youngest roster and after the draft next year probably improves on that. Far to early to even think about any cap problem because frankly there isn't one.
The just restructured Witten today....they turned 5.5m of his base into a signing bonus saving 2.75m this year......this is what they do.........they claim to be cap poor but they eventually restructure everyone...... all the fans think they are handling the cap better, they aren't....it just went up 40m in the last 3 years

If they restrucutred all their contracts in March they would have had 40m in cap space.......instead they do it one by one over the offseason to make it look they are doing everything they can to make space as needed....... it is blatant

You can root for the Jaguars instead of the Eagles then, because that's what they do, except for make the playoffs, well, also like the Eagles
I don't see how a dream scenario could be leaving 15m on the table that could be spent on FAs or trades to make your playoff team a Super Bowl team.....maybe for one season to roll it over but not every year......the Eagles do this and that is why their trophy case is empty

For a much more accurate look at our cap situation use Spotrac http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/dallas-cowboys/cap/

After the Witten restructure they have DAL at 16.4m under.......all in after accounting for the suspended guys, the last 2 spots on the 53 man roster, the NFI guys......I would say DAL is right around 10m under the cap going into the season
