our 3 lineman... have 2 combined sacks

i know the 3-4 isn't known for pass rushing nt's and de's but i mean out of 100's of snaps during the season you'd think your 3 lineman would have more than 2 total sacks. we all would of laughed at this stat if we heard it before the season started.. i know i predicted canty and spears as having around 7 sacks a piece.

these guys are supposedly so athletic, but Tiki and many other backs shred us to pieces.

Newman and Demarcus Ware are the only defenders on our team without a real weakness.

Ratliff and Hatcher were out there plenty yesterday. Fact is outside of Ware, no one on this team can get consistent pressure. Add to that, that the rest of the LB's can't blitz effectively. That puts you in a hole. Losing Greg Ellis might not hurt so much with the run, but it makes the defense predictable. Teams now know if Ware doe not rush, they will most likely have ALL day to throw the rock. And if he does rush, just block him with two/three people. No one else to worry about.

How bout hte fact that Spears and Canty are rarely in on passing downs. You are asking them to get sacks when they are rushing the passer maybe 9 times per game. I mean they havent been good I know. But to call them terrible I think is exaggerating it.

Good point. And how do they compare to other 3-4 DEs in the sack department? How many sacks do the ends of Pittsburgh, San Diego, or other 3-4 teams have?

And how do the Cowboys rank in the league in total sacks?

Answers to these might bolster the arguement....

They are just on the line to plug holes....and sometimes even that is pitiful.

But, overall, we have been pretty good against the run.
