Why can't we hit on the white guy safeties who have potential but get injured? See Beriault, Justin and Johnson, Matt.

Sean Lee gets injured a lot too, you might be onto something since none of the black guys ever get hurt. Hmmmm...

Peoples feelings of him would be different if Dallas didn't hold on to him so long. Crap situation for everyone.

Odd timing.

Figure if you hung in there until March that you'd give it another shot.

Guess he could have gotten hurt working out in preparation.

Don't be a $&#&. Dude worked. His body just betrayed him

I personally don't think his body betrayed him. I think it's more of an issue with weight training these days. Guys get so jacked up and do so much heavy lifting and are told that they can do it and this particular trainer will be able to keep them healthy and the other trainers that say you're getting too big don't know what they are talking about. Then they start to see gains in the short term, but it eventually catches up to them.

I remember when David Boston was playing in the NFL and the Cardinals trainers told him that he was getting too big and that the muscle mass was going to put too much stress on his hamstrings and ankles. His 'rogue' trainer kept saying that they didn't know what they were talking about and how this was the way to train. And then Boston started suffering ankle, hamstring and knee injuries.

As we've seen with hamstrings, injure it once and now you're more likely to do it again. Johnson got jacked up beyond belief and his hamstrings couldn't handle it. Sucks, man.

My feeling was always the same. He was a semi-pro talent who had no shot in the league. The injuries just kept him from making that painfully obvious to everyone.

Horrific draft pick.

Spot on. The org couldn't admit wasting a 4th on him and kept paying him on IR. Not his fault...

You said let me train with you and I said maybe
that's not a good idea Matt. But no. You said you're
the man Miles. And I said my hamstrings are
contagious Matt. But you weren't having any of
that. Now look at you tweeting you're retiring and
****. Well, I tried to tell you Matt. I really did.

17 interceptions at Eastern Washington made him worth the effort.
