There is something different this year under Jason Garrett. We haven't seen this OL and this offense play like this under Red ever that I can remember. The defense has been remarkable all things considered.

Credit where credit is due!

Bill Callahan, Jerry's choice, was a failure last season.

Scott Linehan is on this staff because of Jason Garrett.

The point is he told Garrett enough is enough with play calling, his role is to focus on the whole team.

They all deserve praise.

Jerry deserves praise for letting Jason have his OC (Linehan). He also gets credit for taking a side step with player personnel by promoting McClay.

Garrett deserves praise for leading this team and getting Jerry aligned with the rebuilding job that needed to be done for this team to be successful. He also deserves credit for putting this staff together including keeping Callahan for another year and managing to convince Marinelli to stay when Kiffin was promoted.

The coordinators deserve praise for getting the most out of the talent that they have been provided with.

The players deserve credit for playing hard and smart football.

The OL has been the key to it all. Sounds like Callahan might be the guy worthy of the most praise.

He's a good OL coach.

Frank Pollack gets a lot of credit, too.

He will likely be our new OL coach next year as I expect Bill Callahan to leave.

Linehan has used his personnel to its strength. Marinelli has make chicken salad out of chicken feathers.

I give props to Jerry Jones for remaining patient with Jason Garrett and looking at the big picture.

Some will say he never intended to fire Garrett, but there were bumps in the road along the way.

Back me up, Tony Romo.

“One of the best things Jerry has done was just stand by him and let his system, his mantra, his philosophy play itself out. I think that you’re seeing the dividends. You’re reaping the rewards of having him stay in place.

“Jason is the best head coach in the league that no one talks about,’’ Romo said after the Cowboys won the NFC East. “I mean, he’s really gifted at his ability to communicate to his players. He’s got a great mind for the game of football.

“Jason is going to figure it out. He’s as good of a coach as I’ve ever been around. He’s special.’’

The thing is Jason made it hard for a lot of people to think he was a good coach because of the in game stuff for 3 1/2 years. Good coaches dont have the stuff happen in games that he had happen, its just a fact. And a lifetime football guy, even as an inexperienced HC shouldnt have a lot of that stuff happen. Nobody questioned his organizational or locker room stuff, just on Sundays during the games.

The Red h o m e r s wont accept it, but the only thing that has changed is the coaches under Red. Reality says they have made the biggest difference. Most of these guys on offense have been with Red for years so anybody that thinks all of a sudden it all just clicked this year with the same ole same ole process are in denial. Facts and results just dont lie.

This year has been different and its been fun.

Really do not know how that conversation went. Jerry does have a lot of respect for Garrett, Jason last year did not like what was going on and took over playcalling from Callahan and this year hired a man in Linehan whom he had a close relation to. In my view Jimmy Johnson was right when he said Garrett would be better off coaching the entire team as opposed to taking on the role of HC/OC.

Let me guess; you still mistakenly think Garrett iced his own kicker, right?

Coaching has been vastly improved, and much more consistent this year than in any in the Garrett era.

The preparation and discipline have been clearly improved for the most part.

In a league where penalties are way up, it seems like we have got a firm grasp on it, especially the unforced ones.

I thought I heard them say that the Cowboys has the lowest amount of dropped passes in the NFL. Of course, part of that is due to us not throwing much. But, I think Dooley deserves a lot of credit for that.
