Bare with me here, I just read the NFL.com article on up and coming young groups in the NFL. Jets D-line, Cowboys O-line type stuff.
And I looked at our D-line roster - we are not that far away from a dominating front row on defense ! If (big if) we can somehow get Hardy DE to agree to sign a 3-4 year deal, I would give my first born .... and he's only 27. T.Crawford DT - just signed his big money deal - 25. R.Gregory DE - 22. D.Lawrence DE - 23. R.Russel DE - 23. D. Irving DE - 22. All young and up and comers. (Well, we will see about Russel and Irving). Now we have Mincy DE - 31. And Hayden DT - 29. As the old men of the group, but a pretty good nucleus there.
We need a young stud DT ! How many times must we say it ! Put a talented young DT next to Crawford and man, We are off and running. Now I know, not gonna be a 1st rounder, that's just not gonna happen. But if we could somehow, someway get someone like the DT from Baylor - Billings ? In the second, I would give up my other first born ... (No kids in reality). What a dominant line we could have on both sides.
Notice on the Cowboys.com roster we only have 2 DT's Crawford and Hayden. And DE's masquerading as DT's. For the forth year in a row, I'm banging my hand on the table for a 2nd-3rd round, talented DT !!! Whose with me !
(Plus that leaves our top pick - or two for skill position players).
