Jones 6;5, Wilford/Williams 6;4

Minus the Henry td he gave up and the play where Newman guessed wrong and got all turned around vs Reggie Williams, all the other passes they gave up how much better could they cover on them. On the catches Newman gave up he was inch for inch with both of them and the passes were just perfect. You can not cover any better than what they did. If you argue any differnt than I think you're a bit harsh. Newman battled today as did Henry, there both ver good corners. Today they just got tough luck.

Yeah they had good position on a lot of the throws they gave up, they were just perfect throws.

Think you have to put a lot of their performance on our iffy pash rush. Their sometimes but other times, nothing.

Henry had bad technique on several plays though, and I'm worried about that.

The way he played that fade route was horrible, even though the receiver grabbed him. Newman had the same play but had perfect technique and defended the ball.

I'm sure hoping that today was just bad luck and that this won't be a lingering problem throughout the season. Only time will tell...

I agree, I think some people are forgetting to give Leftwich credit. He played a great ball game today, I tip my hat to him as much as it hurts.

And that my friends is why you draft a franchise QB when you have a chance. Newman is a good corner, but CB is not the most important position on the team.

my only gripe is there were about 6 passes where had the db turned around it would/could have been picked or knocked down. The db's were playing the wr to close almost.

Newman had two absolutely fantastic deflections. I'm not down on him at all. Henry looked a little more rough and had a chance at a pretty easy interception. The secondary should be very good this year though, I think they'll continue to improve.

Well Glenn IS aging.

that's no excuse for getting turned around, he's stride for stride w/ his man, just it seems like he has no idea the ball is heading to the man he's covering

thats what I was talking about before in this thread. Henry, Newman and Glenn each had about 2-3 plays where had they just turned to find the ball it would be picked or knocked down.

I know, but it just seems like a regular occurance for Glenn

Yes, he does deserve a lot of credit. Tough loss because we had opportunities. We should have been up at least 17 if not 24.

The officiating sucked both ways.

One on Henry(most likely should have been Off pass interference.. but hey i guess u can't get all the calls u want :( ) one Leftwich sneak on 3rd and goal and one Taylor run where Roy Williams should have had him in the backfield. and a scobee kick
