Our defense compared to a couple of years ago.

I re-watched the Cowboys-Colts game from a few years back when the Colts were 9-0.

Our defense looked different from the get-go...

The one thing that I noticed was that our CB's were up on the WR's virtually all game long.

Manning was 20-39 with a couple of picks and his QB rating went waaay down in that game.

This was when Manning was #1 and Romo was #2 in QB rating.

I would love to see THAT defense again....granted T-New was playing in that game, BUT, we have been playing off of the WR's all year so far....time to get them back up on the WR's....PAST time for that.

the steelers played off the Commanders monday, how did that turn out.

and we did press the giants alot.

We simply dont have the people on defense to be good. Throw in a bad staff....(imo) and you get the results we have.

We have a defense that can look good if we are up 14-3 or 21-10. If we are in a tight game or need the defense they will let us down more times than not.

we are absolutely pathetic on third downs. We should be dubbed the "2nd Downers" for all the celebrating they do after tackles on 2nd down only to give up the first anyway on 3rd down.

No, they didn't. Not much anyway. ANd when they did, they disquised it better, they didn't just line up 12 yards away from the WR and stand there waiting for the snap.

You can always pick out a single game over the last few years to make us look good or bad compared to today...

We're just not getting consistent pressure from the guys up front -- Ware is doing his part, but that's about it. With the talent we have in our front seven, no QB should have more than three seconds to throw at any point in the game. I'm telling you, we need to start rattling QBs -- even though our sack total is pretty high, it's somewhat misleading IMO. The consistency of pressure just isn't there.

Week 2 vs the Skins (that year): Held them to 10 points, 245 total yards, and forced a turnover.


Week 4 vs the Titans (that year): Held them to 14 points (2 FGs, a TD, and a 2pt conversion), 229 total yards, and forced 3 turnovers.


Week 6 vs the Texans (that year): Held them to 6 points, 232 total yards, and forced 3 turnovers.


Week 8 vs the Panthers (that year): Held them to 14 points, 204 total yards, and forced 3 turnovers.


Week 10 vs the Cardinals (that year): Held them to 10 points, 295 total yards, and forced 3 turnovers.


Week 12 vs the Bucs (that year): Held them to 10 points, 211 total yards, and forced 2 turnovers.


After that we hit december and we all know what happens in december.

Just saying that the Colts game was a huge win over an undefeated team... But it's not like that defense ever consistently played to the same level.
