It's amazing isn't it? What are they watching? Lawd!!!!

It happens every year...

At this point, I'm satisfied with most of what I've seen in preseason, and I think the Boys are ready for the real games to commence...

All I want to see against the Vikings is an extended audition for the new guys, and no injuries...

I honestly don't think they played that bad with the second-string.

They didn't play poorly at all.

Regardless, the starting Cowboys defense surrendered a grand total of three points. What are people expecting every week? Shutouts?

I really didnt see them giving up any big plays tonight...most of the Niners completions were dink and dunk stuff. They averaged 6.0 yds per a attempt and completed only a few passes to WR's.

Scandrick and Jenkins didnt give up much. Jenkins gave up one completion I think, Scandrick gave up two or three but on one was clearly pushed off on.

I'm not worried. Wade is an outst.anding defensive coach. We've seen almost nothing but vanilla stuff in terms of fronts and coverages all preseason.

I didn't see the the pushoffs, not sure what telecast you got, but Dallas didn't show push offs, although Scandrick complained about it once I think.

Anyway, like I said, I am concerned about Depth and really legitimacy of our Secondary. We shall see. Personally, whenever there was a concern in pre-season games, normally it turned to be true in regular season. I am skeptical, but I will be happy if I am wrong though, on long run that is.

I saw Jenkins make two outstanding open field tackles and give up one pass completion.

I saw Scandrick give up one completion, where he had blanket coverage and it took a perfect throw to complete it.

I missed the part about these two guys looking bad.

Especially Scandrick and Jenkins. They don't suck, but they aren't all that, or at least what they would be based on what we heard from TC.

I don't think the staff is concerned about our secondary like you are. Actually, read the thread, it's only 1 or 2 of you who are talking this noise.. Just sayin!!!

Yeah, don't you remember when Vinny was playing defense back in 04?
It had to do with the meaninglessness of preseason results.

If this had been a "real" game, Romo and the rest of the 1st team offense would of been on the field for, oh, 25 minutes or so of the second half. SF would have barely sniffed the ball on offense.

This discussion would not of been taking place.

Cody bless you.

Back on point: Arnez Battle was the only Niner receiver to catch a pass against the starting Cowboys defense, and -- as I recall -- he was being covered by Terence Newman. Furthermore, the catch was of the spectacular diving variety.

With our 46 and 3-3 gap defenses and the pressure will will bring, the secondary wont have to cover nearly as long as they do now. Right now they are on a island, because of our vanilla play. All that changes with pressure. Prossman
