Haha, it won't be all DB's but this draft might have the most secondary talent that I can remember. With our picks toward the end of the rounds, I don't see how DB won't be BPA or very near it.

And yes, DB's matter. Ask the Patriots. They draft DB's high nearly every year and sign them in FA. They have about 5 guys that were drafted in the first 3 rounds, and just handed Gilmore 40mill guaranteed. You could say they actually value DB more than any other position.

But no good teams draft DB's apparently.

Kid from Washington who was projected as a 1st rounder just got carted off at his pro day. I now expect us to use a 3rd on him

I think he's a Brown or a Titan before our 3rd rounder. Dick LeBeau could use him in that secondary

One persons philosophy is another persons analogy,
Without a pass rush, DBs are irrelevant
Without DBs, teams can split you wide, and take advantage
My analogy is you take what you need if its there.. just talking DB vs DE.
That's what we are looking at, Ive always been a BPA guy, but this year it looks like that field is narrowed.
We need DB or Edge,, just take the best when they present themselves on our board, and this draft should fall to us considering the depth.

Well this would certainly be the year for it! No matter how u mock it theres solid dbs to be had for at least the first 2-3 rounds.

If we sign Ware and pair him w Tapper thats not really a hole so we dont have to force Edge.

1- Conely, Wilson, White, Peppers, Baker
2- J Lewis, Tankersly etc.

adding a couple young guys w "juice" back there is long over due, Claiborne flopped, Carr Underwhelmed

I see you mentioned Charles Tapper. Have you heard how he is progressing with his recovery? I think he will be a good addition to the DL if he can get healthy enough to play.

Do we need DBs? I thought everyone hated our DBs. Isn't all of them being gone good thing?

We have room for 1 CB and 1 safety when you really think about it.

Brown, Scandrick, and Carrol with a rookie as the 4th CB. McFadden, UDFA or camp signing as 5th.

Jones, Heath, Frazier + a rookie will make up the 4 S's we will most likely carry. Again, maybe a udfa/late pick up undressed on the 53

But just not a whole lot of room to add a bunch of guys to the secondary...especially if Mo or Carr come back.

I fully expect a TE, LB, and DE mixed in with a CB and S.

Ugh..I'm not sure what team you're watching but.none of those names you mentioned should be locks for the roster. Save maybe Scandrick..And even he didn't play great last season. We need upgrades all around in our defensive backfield bud. If you're satisfied with any of those names..Yikes. lol

I know we need to draft BPA, but we also need to draft a Safety. Here are the top 10 for Free and Strong Safeties, per Ourlads:

2 Budda Baker Washington
3 Obi Melifonwu Connecticut
4 Marcus Maye Florida
5 Jordan Sterns Oklahoma State
6 Marcus Williams Utah
7 Josh Jones North Carolina St
8 Rayshawn Jenkins Miami
9 Johnathan Ford Auburn
10 Delano Hill Michigan

Top 10 Strong Safeties

1 Jamal Adams LSU
2 Jabrill Peppers Michigan
3 Eddie Jackson Alabama
4 Justin Evans Texas A&M
5 Montae Nicholson Michigan State
6 Tedric Thompson Colorado
7 Xavier Woods Louisiana Tech
8 Josh Harvey-Clemons Louisville
9 Damarius Travis Minnesota
10 Dymonte Thomas Michigan

I'm wondering which of the above will the Cowboys meet with... At a pretty high clip, they usually draft the players they meet with.
