Maybe this is why we released Hoyte:

CHARGERS TRIM A TRIO
After trying unsuccessfully to trade Pro Bowl fullback Lorenzo Neal, the Chargers have dumped him, along with two other veterans.
Also gone are safety Marlon McCree and tackle Shane Olivea.
Neal was signed through 2010, at base salaries of $1.5 million, $1.5 million, and $1.75 million. McCree has a base salary of $2.765 million in 2008, $3 million in 2009, and $3 million in 2010. And Olivea was under contract through 2011 at a salary of $2 million this year, and then $2.5 million, $2.65 million, and $3.075 million over the next three.

Dallas drafted a very good FB in Deon Anderson, word is he's already working out and anxious to get back on the field... No need to either draft or sign a free agent FB when they've got him already on the team.

Wow, that's actually probably exactly what they'll do. Owen of Hillis.

Reports all last season was that Garrett and the other offensive coaches loved what Cricket does for them.

I saw Schmitt get blown up on film on I believe it was Senior Bowl on NFLN. Had his helmet totally blown up and blasted off. I'm sure he's good but FB is a near dino position in todays NFL.

No interest in Neil at this point.

Exactly and the offense suffered when Deon Anderson wasn't in the game, he's a good weapon to have... He'll be a better blocker this year and has really good hands out of the backfield, I'm glad they let Oyte go myself.

our offense was on a record breaking pace last year, and slowed significantly once cricket got hurt. he was beginning to exude shades of moose...i think he is the reason we didn't advance further into the playoffs. i look forward to seeing him next year...

Hostile I hope your right about Schmidt, but I am afraid your wrong, i think the cowboys are going after neal or they will draft the fullback Peyton with arkansas, the cowboys loved him, me personally i want schmidt, i think he is a cross between daryl johnston and the fullback that played for the 49ers, cant think of his name right now, but he was good,

i think crickett will be good too in time, but generally when you have shoulder surgery, its not good the year after, generally takes 2 years to fully recover,

but I LOVE SCHMIDT, but lookout i think parcells and ireland will draft him before us,

I'd LOVE to ge Neal, having him blow open holes and then have Marion blow open another hole after that with his power, it would be almost impossible for Barber not to get consistent 5-6 yard runs with the holes he'd open and the extra yards he gets upon contact!

doctor32 has been singing Owen Schmidt's praises all year and he has me totally convinced he is a guy for us. He seems like a perfect fit with his versatility and quality of person.

I would be happy with that. He is an "old-school" full back. The kind I like.

The coaches have made it clear they like what Deon Anderson brings to the team so I don't see why they would either draft or acquire someone via free agency, enough already...

Please - let another team draft a FB in the 1st or second round! :anvil:

We have Deon to be our guy for now and if they're not sold totally on him, but also cause they need a quality back up anyway, they could try drafting Owen or something.

I doubt we're going to be signing Neal.

I would take that bet. Chargers do not have too many needs on their team, FB and NT need a youth infusion.
