Really keying in on Jenkins/Scandrick (Scandrick/Jenkins). If these guys can be players for us this year, and Gerald Sensabaugh is the cover safety we think he is...

I would like to think what would have happened if pacman hadnt screwed up.

This should be a much improved bunch over last year if they can all stay healthy. This should be a scary prospect for other teams considering we lead the league in sacks - if the coverage is better we may even get more sacks, and hopefully more turnovers.

Please don't think about Pacman any more......

And the OP didn't even mention Mickens or the young safeties. Hamlin is already showing well and Deangelo Smith reminds me a little of Thomas Everett.

It may be next year before they do much on defense, but at least they should settle the position down so we can concentrate on our lines next year.

I think we do have some good potential with our secondary, but I am to the point where I want results instead of potential.

I hear you. Year after year of playoff ineptitude is beginning to me wear on me as well.

But what else is there to discuss during the off season?:)

Fair comment. We were excited last year at this time as well with Newman, Henry & Pacman supported by Jenkins & Scandrick. That group fell WAY short of expectations.

Neverthless, I am excited about the potential in Jenkins, Scandrick, Sensabaugh, a rebounding K.Hamlin (I hope), and the rookies M.Hamlin, D.Smith & Mickens.

I'm even excited to see what Alan Ball and Courtney Brown can do given the bit of head turning they caused at OTA's. Watkins? Not so much.

It's probably better that he did.

Adam Jones would always be a distraction to the team because of the media attention generated by his off the field behavior.

And it would always be just a matter if time before the next incident took place.

Pacman could not be relied upon.

It's better to let another club gamble with such a player.

I live in South Carolina and watched Clemson's Michael Hamlin almost every week. He has a nose for the football and we are in dire need of players with that quality.

There will be lots of competition for the reserve spots in the secondary this year and it should be fun to watch.
