Our secondary isn't the problem, it's the lack of pass rush!

We need edge, safety and LB. Not likely to get all 3 in the draft with our picks. But what he get has to be really goid players. Can’t afford a miss
I don't think that in itself is going to work if they bring back Matt and think just give them more players II just don't think it's going to work I just don't like his ego his unwillingness to adapt and overcome If he's here next year I have zero confidence I don't care what names you put on this defense...

You can go out and make a trade for Miles gary and I still wouldn't have confidence that we would be able to win more games with Matt as our DC and yet I have this ugly feeling in my gut Jerry might bring him back and I just don't think it'll work...

The Secondary is a big problem. Linebackers are a big problem. DE is also a problem. The DC is another problem. See a pattern here? Jerry put together another bad unit with a hodge-podge mentality. Nothing fits together….at all. For the first time in a long while, he stumbled into a good DLine.

Big Enos is gonna run it back too with little FA help. Dallas can’t miss on the two first-rounders this next draft. I don’t want to see them trade down either for more bodies, get two day-one starters and don’t overthink it.

Yes it is bad, no S whatsoever and if Bland isn’t getting INT he getting abused, need help in the draft and probably FA considering Diggs may not be back. Will give Revel an offseason and see about him next season.

I’m not a fan of his either but talent hides a lot of flaws

I wouldn't argue this point seeing I believe if Clowney didn't play in the KC game we'd have lost. But realistically we need to get better at pass rushing and pass defense. That would include a great DC. Bringing back a secondary coach to coach Eberlax defense won't work.

An average to above average DL will not get many sacks when the DB's play so far off and allow receivers to run uncontested. Even bad receivers look good when they have a free release off the line and a huge cushion. The DB's aren't great to begin with, the scheme sucks regardless, and yes they don't have the best pass rush to help mitigate this. Throw in we have the absolute worst LB core ever, zero help from this group. I can suit up tomorrow and not look any worse than Murray who they keep forcing onto the field.

We certainly need to upgrade our edge rushers. Wouldn’t shock me if an edge rusher was our first pick in draft. The need is there if they just don’t reach. Can’t make any mistakes in this draft
Been saying for months, need to go get a veteran pass rusher as prospects at the position usually have steep learning curves. Go get a quality pass rusher and then draft his future replacement.

Well, IMO the defense has a lot of holes, outside of DT, which feels like bizarro land typing that.

The edge rushers as a whole are just average. Clowney is starter at LDE, but replaceable.
EZE looks to have upside but still to be determined.
Rest of the edge players are depth or replaceable.

Linebackers is also a questionmark, with Overshown being Mr. Glass and Wilson being a JAGGY #2. Murray is ***.
Young linebackers are to be determined.

Safeties are getting old, and not the same from 2-3 years ago.

Corners are shaky too. Bland has had a below average 4th year, but already got paid.
Revel looks like a rookie with no offseason.
Rest are equally forgettable.

Add in a generic Madden like zone coverages, it's no surprise the defense has been subpar this year.

That doesn't make any sense you did not want to start out your new season with the same flaws you had this year before just because you add talent and hope for the best no you need to find a better chef because we don't want a one star chef that can put together a decent defense with a lot of talent no we want a 5 star chef that can get more out of his talent...

I am not willing to entertain the thought that we do not need more cornerbacks.

It's a nonstarter for me.

If Eberflus is your DC I really don’t understand the point of investing in the CB position.

With his scheme I would put every asset I had on my front 7 and roll the dice with JAGs on the back end. If you can stop the early down runs to set up 3rd and long then get pressure consistently with 4 there is no reason to pay guys big money to sit and cover a deep 1/3rd all day.

Yours is the post that doesn't make any sense.

We did not add talent. We subtracted talent. I mean, this is blatantly obvious.

Keep on hearing many say we need more corners as our secondary is terrible, the problem is lack of pass rush and a terrible scheme:

2023-ranked 5th in pass defense
2024-ranked 17th in pass defense (ton of injuries)
2025-ranked 32nd in pass defense

Let's look at the sack numbers:

2023-46 sacks (13)
2024-51 sacks (3rd)
2025-29 sacks (18)

Our pass defense goes from 17th to league worse and sack numbers from 3rd to 18th. These numbers tells us, it is the lack of pass rush why the pass defense has struggled so much. Yes, this is the loss of Micah Parsons, but it also is changing from an aggressive scheme to one that rarely blitzes and plays ton of off coverage.

Fixing the front 7 in the offseason needs to be the priority, along with replacing Eberflus.
Absolutely agree. We traded our passrush for interior DL essentially, which I would say was a good trade for us but we did lost the passrush. Clooney being out hurt a lot too.
Lot of needs on the D going into the offseason…
Passrusher, LB, and FS….CB wouldn’t hurt either.

Agree, I’ve never seen a DC so
Obviously bad

I'm sure they're gonna try that ,I mean is my brain not working or is Clowney not a veteran pass rusher? I mean are you talking about a top shelf guy, like trying to get Hendrickson, or something more expensive? who?

I don't see many of those out there that are better than what we have without breaking the bank, in which by the way if you check the salary cap ,did you realize that we have three players that are gonna make top money in this league at least at their position, and are running back Williams, Aubrey, and the George Pickens deal, could really throw everything off ,that's a lot of money, And then we have to restructure Clark, and then we're going to have so many holes on the defense to fill It's crazy when I keep hearing all this offseason chatter you know the idea is being thrown around by fans..

I mean the biggest crazy ideas they're gonna somehow be in the Kyle Pitts bidding war are you kidding me that's what fans think this is not Madden this is not fantasy football we just signed our tight end you may not like him right now but we're also paying a lot of money to a lot of positions everyone wants George Pickens and now Kyle Pitt added to it What's next you want BJ Robinson too I mean is that how we sit here as fans thinking we're just gonna build this team like it's fantasy football..

I know the Eagles try to break that mold and try to tell you the narratives wrong where you just can't pay everyone but the truth is you can't pay everyone not that you guys are looking to build a super team with all the top free agents and the best draft picks on the planet because there is no cap and there is no roster limits you can do whatever you want because the Eagles say so but the rest of the team to operate normally to for the most part but the Eagles say that everything is a fake when it comes to money and rosters..
.
LOL

And yet who is their back end I mean who who exactly are their corners and some of the holes they have on their team because last I checked there were quite a few and that is what has to be done you have to choose where you want to be strong and where you think you can cover up a weakness because there is a cap and there is roster limits and there's only so much you can do so fans need to calm down....

LOL

I can not get past once good players looking bad all season under Eberflus. Call it LBs, call it pass rush, call it secondary, but all of them have been subpar at times when they weren't before the arrival of Flus.

These guys need a clean slate, and a coach that's versatile, not a one trick with a played out trick.

D line good not great.

All three levels need upgrades. The coordinator needs to be flushed.
