How rare is that? Brandon Carr is the only one. Jack Crawford Started last few because Dlaw was hurt. That will probably change this week. Home Grown and 13-3 Kudos Jerry and Co.

I LOVE THAT!

Getting harder and harder to pretend Jerry, Garrett and Co. haven't done a fantastic job building this team.

Poor haters.

If we can pretend our phenom rookie QB is a liability, we can certainly pretend the drafting still hasn't improved.

That stuff was stupid to begin with. It's been obvious for a while now what's been going on in Dallas. We've been getting consistently more talented.

And I think 13-3 speaks for itself. Losing to a good team like GB won't change the fact that we've done a good job putting a team together. Though winning is more validation that that's true.

Even then he really came on this year, that's impressive outside of our Carr miscue. That said, you can be wrong sometimes; the rest of the league is. When we have some cap room, use it to improve this D (at least attempt to) in FA considering the options. Not old school WAS style, more DEN/SEA style.
If a team goes into an offseason dead set on filling a specific need in FA then mistakes are likely.

The best method is to consider the market each year and sometimes a good fit will come along. The Seahawks got Bennett and Avril one year for a bargain because they were ready when opportunity was there.

Free and Leary not home grown
Free was a cowboys 4th round pick.

Leary was signed as a udfa by the Cowboys.

Carr and T. McClain appear to be the only starters that were with other teams.

Irving might start but he should be considered home grown because he was never on another 53 man roster (Just the chief's practice squad).

Free was the Cowboys 4th round pick and Leary was an undrafted free agent signed by the Cowboys.
Thx, I thought Free was drafted by the Bears in the 1st. I remember we had a RT from the Bears, I thought it was Free.

What have the starting D-lines been the past few weeks? I know D-Law was originally SDE but not sure if they've been playing him at WDE since we're so light there. I thought Mayowa has been the starter at WDE for a while now. And I know they've been moving Irving around a lot. What do you see the starting D-line being for the Packers game? Something like WDE Mayowa/3DT Collins/1DT McClain/SDE Irving?

Oh yeah, no TB type of spending. Just a calculated risk here and there (even if higher end) is acceptable with the cap raising every year. Really, just a little envious they were able to do so tbh after being told it's impossible, etc. (not you specifically) A couple of pieces would help and have to fit our needs, but don't throw the cap in the trash either.

Columbo; was a great T for a stretch for us. Was our enforcer on the OL; he was a good story after the injuries in CHI after being a 1st rounder.

Always loved when he put Hall on his rump after trying to showboat over the tackle.

On a related note, there's a decent BTB article in the News Feed Zone on the Cowboys' drafts over the last decade (How Have the Cowboys Become So Good?). Pretty revealing. For some reason the link won't paste or I would place it here.

This is a pretty remarkable stat. Hope we can continue the trend for years to come.

Never caught that before, kind of ref's way of saying " You had THAT coming...now don't hurt me now"
