Do we really need to address in the draft? Just throwing a few issues out there.

We are shallow at G.

If our FS ends up playing on the tag, that could point to needing a FS starter next year.

Roy...........

Zach is old and Akin can't rack up 60 TKLS at the 3-4 WILB position.

One of our NT's may be moving to DE in the future and the other is an UFA next year.

Obviously, throughout a 7 round draft, no team sticks to JUST PBA and no team drafts for need only. It's a mix, but what do you folks think the boys need outside the "Big 3"???

Quarter Back could be a need in the later rounds as Brad Johnson is still old, so we might want to groom a backup to Romo.

Offensive Line is always a need, seems like you always need good players on the line. We may be set at young tackles (if McQ stays as a tackle) so I figure Guard and Center would be the biggest needs along the line.

We could possibly look for a safety if the staff thinks Watkins and Brown aren't good enough backups. We'll probably look at this position even if they are.

and finally, I could see us taking a Fullback, if we don't wanna go into the season with Anderson as our only option at that position.

if Hamlin leaves, I wouldn't mind it at all if Pat Watkins is our starting FS

we also need to get some kick and punt-coverage guys on the team

I hope Hamlin stays. Pat has shown a little bit but I don't expect him to play as well as Hamlin, especially not as well in run support.

I'd say starting at rd 3 (assuming we go CB, RB, WR with the first 3 picks in no particular order) I'd like to see a d-lineman. Even if Ratliff stays at NT, we'll need a DE ready to replace Spears or assume that 3rd DE spot that Hatcher has now. If Ratliff is moved to NT, we'll need someone who can split with Tank.

SS obviously since we lost Killa. Prefebly someone who can play special teams

I believe we also need an ILB. Zach is 35, Akin should be cut asap, Carpenter is a poor fit in a 3-4 and Burnett is often injured. That's 4 ILB that may possibly not be with the team in 2 years, so some young depth is needed.

An interior offensive lineman is needed as well. IMO, McQuistern should be moved to guard. That would give us 4 good tackles (Flo/Free and Colombo/Marten) and 3 good guards (Kosier/McQuistern and Davis) and a good Center in Gurode. Right now Corey Proctor is the 9th o-lineman and can swing between G and C, so who ever is the highest rated G or C when we're ready to take o-line should be the pick and Proctor should play the other, which gives us 10 good lineman.

The last major need imo is back-up QB. I think we should draft someone (like Matt Moore ! ) who after a year of riding the bench will be an inexpensive QB who can come in and play well if Romo gets hurt

Only problem is the Cowboys haven't kept a 3rd QB on the team since 04 when it was Romo. Doubt Jerry will do so this year.

Very good question. I look at it like this, the 3-4 is all about lbers so lets get a stud there to replace Ayodele. Then I would look at DT, we need a space eater there so our lber can attack the line of scrimmage. Then I would look to upgrade the OG position with a bigger more athletic guy.

ILB- Phillip Wheeler/Beau Bell/Xavier Adibi/Curtis Lofton
DT- Red Bryant/Dre Moore/Marcus Harrison/Ahtyba Rubin
OG- Mike McGlynn/Kerry Brown/Roy Shuening/Robert Felton

SS - The 'boys have two prospects at FS, so no need there. With KD gone, they need another SS behind Roy for the foreseeable future.

ILB - Zach is a glorified one-year deal. I think Burnett leaves after this year.

DE - Assuming they let Marcus Spears walk.

i think once you get past rb and cb you just get the best player availible and not worry about position. we have to have a cb or two and a rb or two.we could use depth at lots of positions. but i would'nt look past any player if he is the best on the board no matter what piosition he plays.

A big, strong NT to develop.

An ILB that can play long-term.

A backup G/C. Cory Procter doesn't inspire a lot of confidence.

ILB tops the list, for me, after the aforementioned needs.

SS would be great to follow as we all know where there is a severe weakness in the lineup

OL never enough help there despite solidifying the good starting group here.

Looks like everyone has the same ideas (and me too).

CB/S: I wouldn't mind seeing Dallas spend 3 picks on the secondary this year.

OL: I believe in drafting OL every stinkin' year, preferably somewhere in rounds 2-4. You can never have too much talent coming in to this unit. The 'Boys seem to agree and have historically been pretty good about paying attention to this unit.

ILB: Less bang for the buck here, I think. It's easy to upgrade a position where you're lousy - even if the guy you get is only average, it's a big improvement. Where you have a lot of averageish guys, attempting to upgrade is much less of a sure thing.

QB: It sure would be nice to have a backup whose age you can determine without resorting to carbon-dating.

I think we need a few more outside linebackers. Preferably in the first round.
