4 games

I'm going under because I don't think the league takes it seriously, unless it's a QB. I really hope I'm wrong, but...

Someone already said he heard it's only 1 game.

Something I wouldn't be surprised to see though is Jeff Fisher tacking on games to whatever the league hands down, especially if it's only 1 game.

we will see in a couple days, maybe the new commish will take it seriously and make a statement. My guess is they wait for fan reaction and see if it will die down and go away.

I'm sorry, but I have to think that if it were another team or another position (IE QB or WR) that it would be considered a more serious offense. The game has become this contradiction - you cannot touch the QB or nail the WR, but the what goes on in the trenches is overlooked. Look no further that the chop-block...

Rules are applied to name an status in the league.

I posted it in another thread, it ought to be a year minimum. But I know it won't. I don't care who it was or what position they play. If a Cowboy did that, they should face just as stiff a penalty.

Absolute travesty if he doesn't sit out the rest of the year and lose his checks too.

Whatever it is it will be under what it should be if that man ever steps on a football field again.

Plus, his fine should be given to Andre Gurode's favorite charity. It shouldn't be less than 100,000.00

But that's just me.

I am going over since the attack is being shown nationally over and over.

Even Commander fans are calling for battery charges to be brought up and a ban from the NFL.

How could that possibly be? The league office is closed and you can bet that Gene Washington and Goodell are going to have a long long look at this, discuss precedent, look at a ton of film (which BTW likely isn't even at their office yet), and consult with the NFLPA.

Should be the rest of the season. Think about all of the hooplah Laettner received for stomping on the chest of the Kentucky player. Haynesworth not only stommped on Gurode's head, but tried it TWICE.

That bush league garbage doesn't belong in the NFL.

I don't like the play either, but you have to look at NFL history...I don't see him getting more than 4 games...nor do I think he should. IN the heat of action, people do crazy things in a fit of rage at times.

He'll be hit with a short suspension, but perhaps a record level fine.

Hmmm. I'd be surprised if there was a fine over and above losing out of game checks -- I think fines are given instead of suspensions and usually are viewed as less severe.

what's key is how much it's discussed with the media over the next day or two. the league would love this to be swept under the rug and they can impose a "token" fine and suspension.

Just caught Peter King on NBC talking about his opinion - a league imposed 25K fine and no suspesion...***?

Someone said in another thread they heard from a friend that Peter King said it was one game but Peter King was just on the SNF Halftime show saying something different so obviously he was wrong.

However, my thoughts on Fisher were correct since they just said that he said he will take matters into his own hands if the league gives AH a fine he didn't deem good enough.

Will be interesting to see what the league says, and if Fisher holds true to his word and adds to that if he feels it is not harsh enough. He seems like an honest and straightforward guy, but what is his definition of adequate?

NFL - fine (no suspension)
Fisher - 2 games

If it happens like this, would Haynesworth's agent appeal to the NFLPA? And what would the NFLPA think of this situation.

This is gonna be interesting.

I would be an instant fan of Jeff Fisher if he cut him Monday Morning...that is not going to happen however if money was not an issue I bet the thought would cross his mind.

anyone know how to contact the NFL (email) to let them know this is unacceptable? A few emails might bring some fan perspective into the picture.
