I imagine that Overshown is projected as one of the staring MLBs in the 3-4. Let’s say we sign Dean and then Styles drops to us at 12. Can Overshown play OLB? Who comes out in the nickel?

I believe they already stated he would be on the outside.

Overshown's speed makes him an ideal OLB and he can move inside in nickel packages. If the Cowboys sign Dean they might go corner or edge rusher over Styles (if he's there) at 12.

You may be right. I always though they would go best defensive player available at 12 and then try to trade down from 20 to get back into the 2nd, 3rd, or both.

But a run on defensive players means they might try to move down from 12 and get even more value back in a trade; then just stay at 20.

I both agree and disagree with you. Defense will be a main priority for most teams.

However, this is a very deep draft for safeties and cornerbacks. If we trade down one of our picks for a second- and third-rounder, we can still get good value. Frankly, because this draft is deep at cornerback and safety, I would give up future picks to acquire more draft capital this year.

I don't think we need to trade down. I'm not in favor of spending draft capital to trade for one player. I frankly want Dilon Thieneman over Caleb Downs.

I think we can still acquire a top safety, a corner, and a pass-rushing linebacker. The best players who fit our scheme will be available late in the first round and in the second round.

Because Dillon Thieneman ran a 4.3, his stock has risen. I might want to use our 12th pick on him and let someone else select Caleb Downs.

Overshown would play the WILL!
Typically the one of the DTs, most likely the NT would come out. With Clark capable of playing all 3 DL positions and rush they can rotate the 3 starters during passing downs. The SAM would move to End in 43 alignments.
If they want a bigger front it would be the SAM.

Yes. It is also a position we need to fix. He was also the 2nd best safety in this years draft. He fits Parker's defense like a glove.

The only QB in this draft going in the top 10 is Mendoza. WRs maybe 1 or 2 in the top 10. This will be a very heavy defense oriented draft.

Sonny Styles is no ordinary off ball LB. He is a freak of nature.

I believe the original sports media page that reported moving Liafau stated they were going to try to add 10-15 pounds to his 240 lb frame.
Where on Overshowns 220 lb frame do you see where they can add the 30lbs to get him in the range of 250?
