Not sure how to do a poll, so I'll just ask? Should Owens be cut in the off-season?

My personal take is yes. Don't sell your soul even for the Bowl. I guess I'm just old school as BP and Ditka said, but this guys antics are enough. I truly think there is something mentally wrong w/this guy. I'm not just talking about the spitting incident. I mean all of it. It's old hat already. I say move on.

He'll be back as long as he doesnt do anything really crazy to the team. He hasnt bashed any teammates yet or demanded more money or anything.

I'd prefer him not to be here - but at this point, he really hasn't torn the team apart...yet. So idk if they will justify it or not.

We'll see what happens when the season is over.

EDIT:

Besides the slap stick comedy he provides, I personally think the guy is doing his job and hasnt done anything that warrants him being cut, including his actions Saturday.

He has been a very good receiver and personally, I have felt in some of our losses he wasnt involved in the offense enough.

What exactly is his cap numbers next year anyway?

Then we'd have nothing to rant about except the draft, Zimmer, and what FS we need to get in FA.

Hardly the stuff of 10-page posts, you must admit.

Well Romo is just finding his timing with receivers Glenn and TO... it could get better NEXT year... the stuff in the media is just that... like BP says, "periferal"

I vote for yes.

We could string together 3 SB's here. Not enough risk/reward for ya?

If the coaches are willing to deal with it then he will be back. My personal feeling are I did not want him here to start with so it is a bit unfair for me to say what I think the organization is going to do.

Yes. I think if you asked Parcells or most other coaches in the league if you would want TO on their team, the answer would be a resounding YES.

I am constantly dogging Parcells, but the one thing he has done right is control TO. While I may hate his conservative defensive gameplans, the man has done the best job of controlling TO. He pretends like he doesn't care. Instead of trying to be his friend like Ried, BP simply pretends that TO doesn't matter. If the Tuna leaves, Dallas needs to trade up and get one of the best recievers like Calvin Johnson. TO will kill any young coach or any coach that doesn't have the stubbornes or strong will of a Bill Parcells.

He will be back. What has he done in the locker room. Seems to get along with his teamates. Has a little problem with Coach Haley. I think Bill can tolerate him because he shows up on Sundays and Bill knows he can count on him on Gameday. Also Jerry liokes his production on the field and the merchandise sales the guy produces. That rumor of Bill won't be back if TO is Is a joke. They both will be back.

But you have no proof of that.

Nah, just messing with you.

I agree, guy is a hell of a playmaker and should be back next year.

I think it's between 8 and 9 million dollars. His base pay is $5 MM for next year.

You're right, which is why I said "I think..."

It's always important to put that qualifier in there. ;)

Its funny... because I read your post and it reads so "matter of factly"

YET... before we signed him... the posts also read so "matter of factly" that he wouldnt EVER be a Cowboy

History will repeat itself in this case. He will be back just as sure as he was gonna be a Cowboy AS SOON AS it was possible.
