Crayton especially. He was getting a little to comfy being in Owen's posse. My brother saw them out in a bar in Vegas a few weeks ago. Crayton was like a puppy to Owen's every move all night.

Maybe Jerry saw teams like the Dolphins showing interest in Miles Austin. He should take over the #2 receiver so Crayton can stay in the slot. He has the speed. He just needed the reps.

It's also easy to forget about Hurd. He was coming on when he got that high ankle.

We'll be finding out about these guys soon enough.

Its good for young recievers, only if you have good young recievers. Like Austin, jury still out on the rest.

Yeah the way Owens would work with those young WRs and help them try to become better receivers, there's no place on this team for guys that do that sort of thing. GLAD HE'S GONE!

I think you are right, especially about Austin.

Yes, he helped them, but after they got better his continuing demands on the practice reps, quarterback's attention, and coaches' time ******** their further development.

He helped them until they became competitors. Not so much after that.

It gives the young kids more of a chance anyway.

I'm in the group of people that believes that wide receivers are the most overrated players on the football field. You just need solid guys who can get open and catch the football.

I actually like the receivers here too. I think Miles Austin has star potential. I think Roy Williams is already a legitimate #1 receiver in this league. You've got Witten as another weapon. Patrick Crayton has actually been undervalued, mainly because we're tired of hearing him talk; but Crayton is a good, proven receiver in this league. I even think Sam Hurd is areally good young role player. And I still love Stanback's athleticism, so he's got another chance.

my thinking as well.

his release doesn't make mediocre players better, it simply gives guys a chance to perform.

hurd and austin have had chances but haven't remained healthy.

not sure t.o. being gone helps them unless he leaves his hyberbaric(sp?) chamber behind.

It could be for them to develop on their own and get their reps, but they could have learned from TO, about football, not jus runnin their mouth and killin a team.
