Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne Split After More Than 33 Years of Marriage

by CORINNE HELLER | Sat, May 7, 2016 11:07 PM

It's over for Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne.

The 67-year-old heavy metal rocker and the 63-year-old co-host ofThe Talk have broken up after more than 33 years of marriage, E! News has learned.

A source tells E! News that the couple mutually agreed that Ozzy would move out of the house temporarily. In addition, the split has nothing to do with Ozzy's sobriety. Our insider shared that the rocker has been sober for three and a quarter years and has not touched drugs or alcohol in that time.

Ozzy and Sharon met in the early '70s when he rose to fame with the band Black Sabbath. She later became his manager. The two wed on July 4, 1982 and had three children—Aimee Osbourne, 32,Kelly Osbourne, 31, and Jack Osbourne, 30. The family, minus Aimee, starred on the hit MTV reality show The Osbournes between 2002 and 2005.

Good for you Ozzy! I can't stand Sharon. I know she has played an important role in Ozzy's life when he really needed it but now days she's gone from behind the scene wife/mother/manager to her own celebrity and big mouth. As an Ozzy fan, I had already read all about Sharon before the couple debuted their own TV show in 2002 with kids, Jack and Kelly in tow. This is when most other folks were first introduced to Sharon.

I hate to see marriages end, hope they patch it up. I would think it's more likely that she kicked him out. Frankly as self-destructive as he's capable of being he needs someone taking care of him.

Way way way too late. She already ruined what could have been a career 10x what it was. That woman was a cancer to his career.

He probably wanted to retire or take more time off...she probably wanted him to continue touring or put out yet another Ozzy or Black Sabbath greatest hits album.

No way, Sharon has been a user since well before she met Ozzy. Ozzy was her ticket to riches. Her becoming his manager was an absolute trainwreck. She told him to leave Black Sabbath. (huge mistake) tried to make him fire several of his first band members within which Randy Roads was going to leave Ozzy because of it. That didn't happen because he died first. Then that idiot ***** told Ozzy to get rid of Jake E. Lee another HUGE mistake. Since Jake E Lee was dismissed, Ozzy maybe has two songs on an album that are decent. Before then (all the people Sharon fired) he had entire albums that were awesome.

Stupid *****.

Now Sharon is being more popular than Ozzy makes you wonder if he is jealous?

During a December 1 appearance on Eddie Trunk's "Trunk Nation" show on SiriusXM's Hair Nation, Lee recalled how he gave up the songwriting credit for "Bark At The Moon". He said: "Here's the truth. This is really gonna get me in more hot water, but whatever, I'm in hot water and I don't see a way out…"

He continued: "I was told from the get-go, '[If] you write part of the songs, you'll get writing credit, you'll get publishing. That's part of your deal.' So we recorded the album. I'm recording the album at Ridge Farm in Scotland, and this in the middle of Scotland, in the middle of farmland. It is actually a farm — Ridge Farm is actually a farm; the recording studio is in the barn. So I'm by myself. I don't have management, I don't have a lawyer, I don't have anything. Anyway… But they promise me, 'You'll get what's coming.' And I keep asking because I'm getting really close to finishing all my stuff on the record, and finally, once I lay down the final track of my guitar playing, they said, 'Ah! We have the contract for you.' And in it, it says, specifically, 'Ozzy Osbourne wrote all the songs. You had nothing to do with any of the writing, you have no claim to publishing, and you cannot say so publicly.' And I looked at it. I'm looking at Sharon [Ozzy's wife/manager], and I said, 'This is not what you told me before.' And she says, 'No, it isn't.' [And I said], 'Why do you think I'm gonna sign it?' And she says, 'Because if you don't, we'll give you a plane ticket, you go back home and you stand in line and you sue us. In the meantime, we have all your tracks, we'll get another guitar player, he'll redo your tracks, and you'll have nothing.'"

Jake added: "The only reason I'm saying it now is because that was just mean. That was mean. What am I gonna do? Really? Am I gonna say, 'Fine. I'm going home. Take my tracks off. Some other guy will get all the credit for playing guitar, and I still have to try to sue you for the rights?' It would have been just… not a good decision."

Asked how it came about that he got songwriting credit for his work on "The Ultimate Sin", Jake said: "Well, then, I refused to do anything until I had a contract in front of me promising me writing credit and publishing."

Sounds plausible.

Yeah, she went all "music industry shark cutthroat" on everyone!

I didn't know that deal about Randy!
Without Randy he probably overdoses.

(I'm going to check the alternate universe where Randy stayed with Quiet Riot.)

The reason I said Sharon is more popular than her estranged husband, she has been on TV about all the time, every single time I turn it on. The Talk, other shows.

The story I have always gotten/heard was that Randy wanted to quit because he was tired of the whole R@R lifestyle. Who knows, maybe there is more to it than that. http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/bo...ndy-when-he-found-out-rhoads-wanted-to-leave/

"Bob Daisley: "I didn't see it first-hand but Tommy Aldridge told me that Ozzy punched Randy in the face when he found out Randy wanted to leave. I also heard from a very good source that Sharon went into the office soon after (hours or days) Randy was killed and changed his contract. Mrs. Rhoads had to sue the Osbournes for years for her son's royalties thereafter. Nice little camp, eh?"
