As crazy as it sounds I think the idea of us getting Pac Man Jones is the best rumor I have heard this post season

We have all talked about getting Chad Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin and Roy Williams via trade. Also there has been talk of us trying to get Randy Moss. But IMO when Pac Man Jones gets reinstated (he will) we should no doubt pull the trigger and get him especially since the talks have been we will only have to give up a 5th rounder for him.The guy has had his issues in the past we all know that but this guy is a player he has proven hiself as a solid corner and is one of the best return men in the game.
We need another corner I think 75% or more on here believe that so why not get a player who has proven to be a good player instead of taking a risk and drafting one in the 1st round? The guy is only 24 years old he has many years in front of him..

Hey I am cool with bringing in talent, but remember the Titans thought they were getting a football player and what did they get? One player like him can ruin the dreams of players and careers of coaches. It's a HUGE gamble...It's not like Madden football. I think everybody knows what he has to offer physically..and to be honest, with him not playing as long as he has been out, we MAY not even know that anymore....I think we get better through the draft and let him ruin someone elses dream!

The next team that gets him will most likey get him with a no risk contract. Getting one of the 5-10 best CBs at no risk money isn't all bad.

I dont thik its a huge gamble cause it will only cost us a 5th rounder most likey and if he continues the stuff he did with the titans than we can peace him out and I have a feeling he will be ok with takng a season off... remember people who suffer season ending injuries can come back and be better than ever (Greg Ellis) Pac Man wasnt injured either so maybe a little rusty but thats what training camp will be for

Dover, you need to post a lot more often than you do. In addition to having the best game face bar none on this site, you just flat out tell the truth and use common sense.

The fact Pac Man has only played 2 seasons and only had 1 good year just makes me think he is not worth the risk all together.

He hasn't played football in a loooong time either.

He is no contract risk... So he technically can't be a bust....

The first part doesnt tell us anything other than MAYBE he got better in his 2nd year???

The 2nd part is possible.... but its the same logic that was applied to Moss in Oakland.

I think that the Fitzgerald rumor was the best. I wanted him bad.

He most certainly got better in his 2nd year. But he hasn't played a down since then.

Goodell hasn't even let him get anywhere near a NFL facility. There is definetely going to be some rust there.

His growth as a player in my opinion will have been stunted for sure.

Either way his off the field antics have earned him more hype than his play deserves.

What about when one of his "homies" blows away the spine, legs, and livelihood of a bouncer in one of Dallas' strip joints? How is Jerry going to spin that one? Didn't know he had it in him? Well, it is his first offense--in Dallas.
This 'player' should be doing 10-20 in a federal prison, not looking for a multi-million dollar job.

Not to mention Goodells saying teams who take on known character risks can be punished if said player continues to get in trouble, via draft picks.

It amazes me how many people on this site consider him "no risk" because we pay him next to nothing in salary, and if he screws up, we just cut him.

Would you risk a first round pick and gamble that pacman can stay out of trouble? If so, you've obviously never been to any strip clubs in dallas.

Yes, some rust. But then it will be gone. Not a big deal.

Stunted... meh... maybe ********... but he will get back into game playing shape in a few games...

:hammer: NAH-AILED!!!!!!

For the life of me..............I just don't get the logic of his name even being mentioned with the possibility of a future. In the near future. Mind boggling.

That was an empty threat aimed at teams like the bengals who had many guys getting in trouble. These same concerns were used when Tank was reinstated, the truth is the commissioner won't punish a team for signing a player who he himself reinstated. In fact if teams were to not hire him because of Goodell's remarks the league could get in trouble for collusion.

Ya gotta have someone to reign the loser in when necessary though......is Wade the coach to do that? I dunno.

Great value if the scumbag behaves, but my money says the waste of skin gets in more trouble.

If he ends up disrupting a potential Super Bowl run, I'll personally have some NY boys come down there and "Nancy Kerrigan" his lame @$$.

....and no, I won't send Juke.

Correct me if I'm wrong

But in order for him to sign this magical incentive laden cheap deal first he'd have to be waived and go through waivers. Then he'd have to actually agree to it. If we were to trade for him we'd have to accept the contract he's already under. I know it's a rookie deal but he was a top 10 pick so it's not going to be that cheap.

I would believe it to be a one and done scenario.

As in, here's a chance at redemption. Screw it up in any way, and you're gone. Both from the team and from the league.

You may be right. Nobody knows one way or another until it happens. If and when he gets the chance, we'll have to see what he does with it.

I don't see how he could 'disrupt' anything.

He's on his last chance, therefore they could and would be no antics tolerated. The slightest misstep and he's gone.

The key part is that the team continue to follow their draft strategy and draft a cornerback to protect themselves against relying on Jones. That way anything he brings is a bonus and any ill effects are minimized to the fullest.

Actually, I think the Cowboys can trade for his rights if they had a new contract worked out with him.

In any case, his contract numbers are about $1.2 million, $1.75 million, and $2.2 million - a relative pittance considering the current market.
