Everyone keeps surmising that Pacman would prefer to play in Dallas...I concur, but correct me if I'm wrong...Pacman doesn't have any say in it...none.

Tennessee can trade him to any team they want...if someone offers pick number 160 and Dallas offers pick number 161, there's no reason for Tenn to trade him to Dallas.

The only way Pacman and his agent can manipulate trade scenerios is if NO or NE or any other team doesn't want to pay him the 1.2 million this year, which is actually pretty cheap. Then Pacman's agent can refuse to negotiate an attractive deal with the other teams and offer Dallas a good deal. That's the only way I think his will can have any effect on the trade partner.

Since we're talking a 4th or 5th round selection, I'd go ahead and make the trade before his reinstatement. Afterwards, the price and number of teams is bound to increase. We still have nothing to risk but the actual draft selection because he gets no money until he's reinstated anyway.

Thanks for posting that Breer blog WG. That clears up part of the compensation issue. I'd offer our 6th rounder (#1 in the round acquired in Fergy deal) to them since there is essentially little difference between that pick and the #28 pick in the 5th round. I would stick to my guns that it has to be the 6th rounder though.

Good post Mr. Motley.

Titans sending Pacman to Pats would not be in their best interest, being they're in the same conference. And the decision to go either New Orleans or Dallas would be an easy one for Pacman.

I think there's a subtle resentment toward the Patriots. Aside from the Pats being in the same conference as the Titans, the fact that the Patriots cheated will swing a trade deal not hugely favorable to the Titans in another direction.

I don't think any team would want to trade for jone if he told them he would be unhappy playing there.

If I am say the Eagles and Jones tells me that he would be upset playing there I would not trade for him.

He is too volatile.

Spygate probably killed any chance the Patriots had to get Pacman. The Patriots are probably the most hated team in the NFL now. Signing Pacman would only exacerbate the hatred. The NFL doesn't want that. Bellicek doesn't want that. Nor does Bellicek want the media distraction that would ensue.

I highly doubt Sean Payton in NO could handle Pacman at this stage in his career. And sending Pacman to NO would be like throwing gasoline on fire, imo.

It really looks like Dallas and Wade are the most likely destination for Pacman.

Pacman is not going to get the choice. Tenn is the one who is looking at the draft pick and if NO pick is better why would Tenn trade him to Dallas? Pacman is lucky to be playing anywhere but he sure as hell is not in a postion to dictate where he will play.

Jerry should throw in a bag of "quick dry cement" and a pole, along with the possible 5th rounder to offer Pac Man, "a deal he can't refuse"!!

Just make sure Pacman stays away from Jessica Simpson. We don't need that soap opera.

I could be wrong but I think they gave Dallas a 6th round pick in 2009 and the two teams swapped picks in the 6th round in 2008. So, if I am correct Dallas has only one 6th this season (pick #1 in that round) and two 6th's for 2009.

I agree and realize this. However, organizations sometimes tend to accomodate the player.

What I am hoping here is that Jones is seeking redemption, and can see that Dallas has had some success with players of his profile. If he thought he would fit in and have a successful transition, then he might actually have the right mind-set coming in.

It's probably wishful thinking on my part. If he ends up in Dallas, we need to hope for the best.

I would think Tenn will do what is in their own best interest not in the interest of a player who was suspended. Pacman will play for whoever ends up getting him he really has no choices, what you think he will hold out or refuse to play for another team? Get real this is it for him he will play for whom ever Tenn deals him to.
