Dallas has apparently contacted the Titans about what it will take to get Pacman Jones. The story mentions possibly consideration that might apply and that a trade could take place BEFORE his suspension is up..

Link

I think this story is beginning to get a bit of legs. It appears the Titans are looking at something from April's draft for him.

Hmmm..

Minnesota took, what, a 6th round pick for Troy Williamson?

I'd figure a similar draft choice would be apt, as Pacman was taking immediately ahead of Williamson.

I just don't understand why we have to be the idiots to give this guy a chance.

Most guys have correctible problems.

I just dont see this guy sitting at home during the offseason on a friday night playing scrabble.

He is going to get in trouble again. Its a certainty.

I feel the same. I'll be pissed if jerry pulls the trigger but at the same time, at the cost of a 7th rounder, whatever. Put some CB on the practice squad and just wait for pacman to get into trouble. Cut bait and move on.

I'd rather not have him on the team at all cause he a dousche bag but whatever.

Of course, Jerry had better draft a CB early in the draft as well. Counting on only pacman is stupid on any GMs part.

he is a complete idiot........but people do grow up...hopefully knowing this would be his last chance...(maybe Calvin Hill can help him)...

but this dude is a serious talent we would immediately have the best secondary in the league.....and a kick returner to boot..........id give no more than a 6th for him....1 year incentive laced deal...like we did with Tank

I have no problem giving a 5th, 6th or 7th for Pac Man if that is needed,

But if Jerry does this the contract better be very small, no gambling with the CAP. If he screws up the contract better allow us to lose nothing. That is all I care about. Do not gamble with this one Jerry, if we have no risk, then fine.

NO WAY!

Pacman is under contract to another team and whining about being a Cowboy.

That shows me he hasn't grown up and is a spoiled little rich brat who can't handle himself off the field.

I'd rather the McFadden trade rumors were true than Jerry building the freaking market for this guy.

I really don't know if the best thing for Big D to be doing at this point is to convert all the talented felons in the NFL.

The thing is people are just accusing him even falsely now of stuff.

He has created a circus that nobody can control.

Where ever he goes someone is going to scream rape. If there is a fight he will be part of it. Ect... ect..

Dallas will lose in this situation.

we should give a 5th rd pk for him

how about the 6th round pick we got from Miami? Not that there is much of a difference there.

Then it had better be a sixth or seventh. Nothing more.

There is no guarantee he will even play.

A 5th round pick and an incentive-based contract is ideal in my eyes.

Yeah, so the guy has had problems in the past. TO did, too (of course TO's weren't legal in nature, but still). Most 5th-rounders never even make a noticable impact in the NFL.

If Pacman works out for the Cowboys, you've got a great corner and returner that costs very little. If he doesn't, you've lost a 5th round pick. Big deal. I seem to remember picks being wasted on people like Skyler Green. Plus on his end, he pretty much knows this might be his last chance before being kicked out of the NFL completely.

We also aren't having to completely rely on him - this is for a 3rd CB, not one of your two main ones. Most teams don't even have 2 good CBs, much less 3. I just don't see how a smart deal for Pacman would hurt.

I'm with you on this one. I was for TO when he came here, cause as much as I hated him then, he wasn't a criminal. Just a malcontent. I can swing a dead cat and hit a number of those on my block alone.

But..........Pacman just turns me off. This guy is bad news. He won't take responsibility for his actions, blames everyone else, and is a certainty to get in trouble again.

Dallas is not the place to try to recuperate (spelling). Go to Green Bay where a night on the town consists of a trip to dairy queen.

I know he have secondary issues, but I just don't want to root for this guy wearing my teams uniform.

You and everyone else who doesn't want him would change their tune if he is scoring touchdowns for the team.

For the life of me, I don't grasp this "root for this guy" thing. Anyone who has an issue with character of the players right now had no business cheering for a number of Cowboy greats back in the 1990s.

Had the media been nearly as intrusive and the internet as big then as it is now, there would be a lot more dirt and innuendo on those players than you could imagine. It would be bad even on Landry's Cowboys, who weren't nearly as squeaky clean as portrayed.

I happen to agree with this line of thinking, as well...This despite some initial success with 'trouble' guys like Tank and TO...But Pacman?...This seems a little different as more 'law' issues are at work with Jones.

Don't like it but I suppose that won't impact it one way or another

I guess if it does happen, better happen with minimal investment and not giving up much if a draft pick enters into it.

I don't remember saying "I wouldn't root for him". I said that I dont' want too.

The guy is a straight up thug. I don't like to root for thugs. Have I? Yes. Does that mean I want to fill my roster with them? No. Its not a real hard concept to grasp, I'm surpised I have to explain it to you.

The early 90's cowboys were different. Irvin, Newton, etc etc. Were cowboys prior to being in trouble, so I rooted for them hard. Then when they got in trouble, I wanted them to straighten up, because I had an emotional attachment to them. But going out and picking up guy after guy with a rap sheet, is slightly different don't you think?

I didn't mind when TO was signed (other than I hated him for the star incident), I didn't mind signing Tank because he sold his guns, and seemed to have turned a corner in his maturity. But you can't put Pacman on the same level. He is a ****ing knucklehead thug, with no remorse, no accountability, and is about as mature as my 4 year old.

I'm willing to give ANYONE a second chance, but you need to prove that you deserve the second chance first. And thats where Pacman falls short.
