SPRING THING: Marty Hendin, vp of community relations for the Cardinals, has been leading a caravan through Jupiter, Fla., this week. Hendin, who bleeds Cardinal red, has McGraw Milhaven and Mark Christopher from KTRS and Don Marquess, photographer and Union Station gallery owner, with him on the "Hendin Express." Some behind-the-scenes action at Roger Dean Stadium included musician Bruce Hornsby and his wife posing for a pic with Jim Edmonds; Carole Buck stopping to schmooze with Bob Gibson, Lou Brock and Jerry Clinton; former NY Giants and Dallas Cowboys' coach Bill Parcells on hand with his grandson. Others spotted in the sunshine included: Barbara and Don Rubin; Mary and Terry Wittenberg; Doobie Brothers saxophonist Marc Russo; Hall of Fame pitcher Dennis Eckersley; New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick; NFL hall of famer Bob Griese; and jazz vocalist and guitarist John Pizzarelli.

I'm glad to see Parcells getting in some relaxing time with his grandson. He brought in a lot of good players while he was here so I had hoped he would return. Was also concerned about who Jerry would select as his successor & whether Jerry had learned anything about drafting. how badly hire as our new head coach & how much his draft coaches

Phillips is a good pick cause he can (hopefully) improve our defensive play by bringing a more consistent/better pass rush. Also like the offensive coaches who hopefully will help Romo and our offense to become even more dangerous particularly against the better teams.

BTW: I checked out Extremeskins simply cause I like to see what they saying. They view all NFL East teams (except themselves) as being worse then last year. Under the Cowboys they simply say Phillips has proved to be an awful head coach--no mention of his defensive accomplishments. If our defense performs anywhere near what any of us hope, I'm thinking Skin fans might be in for a shock.
