Parcells Does Not Trust Our Offensive Line!!

I truly believe all of our losses would have been wins if Parcells could trust the OL. I can't say I blame him. Everytime we tried to open it up a little either Pettiti, Johnson or Tucker was getting beat. He didn't want a turnover to lose the game for us. When I watched the Steeler/Bengals game when the Steelers got the lead they put them away quickly with a powerful running game and play action. We need to rebuild the OL next year like we did the DL this year. Man I am frustrated!!

The OLine is our main weakness right now.

and why in the hell shoudl he trust this terribly group?
Remember how great this group was just two weeks ago? Nobody on the offensive line made that horrible decision and throw that lost the game.

everybody thought pettiti was so good, but part of the reason was we were putting a tight end over there to help him out. as soon as we took away his security blanket today he self imploded. alot of people claim now that tucker had a pretty good day today, but again most of that is because we put the tight end over on the left side today to help him protect bledsoes blind side. to me it doesn't say much for either one of them if they can't handle blocking on their own. also, i feel we have the worst group of blockers in the way of our rb's. none of them do a good job of picking any one up. i'm also tired of seeing al johnson screw up getting the ball to bledsoe. let's just let gurode play. the cowboys need to go out in the off season and find a offensive line coach who has a track record for building a solid line. i believe it's one of the positions that seems to take to good coaching techniques. just look at teams like denver/kansas city/indy they seem to do a good job of run and pass blocking year in and year out.

Yea I do remember how great this group was two weeks ago. I also remember how horrible they were 3 weeks ago, last week and this week. There is a direct correlation between the performance of the offensive line and our offensive unit's ability to move the ball and ultimately score. In games the O Line has played well in we've had success moving the ball and scoring. In games where the O Line has struggled our entire offensive unit had trouble scoring.

I put that last throw entirely on Bledsoe but what took place throughout the game was not all Bledsoe's fault. It wasn't Bledsoe's fault they were in that position, but it sure was his fault entirely that we weren't playing in overtime.

I agree we need to bring in Talent on the O-Line for a couple of reasons. One some players are just not playing well enough, but more important in my mind is the Future.

We have a lot of talented young players all over the field that this future we be built on, and it looks bright.

We look good at RB, TE, D-Line, LBer, and Secondary minus FS for a long time to come.

This off-season all I want us to sign and draft is a FS, a WR to go with Crayton down the line, and O-LINE, O-Line, O-Line.

The disappointing thing about the OL is that they have been spending high draft picks on OL the past few years and haven't got much to show for it. Gurode is in his 4th year and was a high 2nd round pick, but is a back-up. Johnson is in his 3rd year and was a high 2nd round pick, but is struggling. Rogers was a high 2nd round pick and was a complete bust. Peterman is in his 2nd year and was a 3rd round pick, but who know's when he will ever get on the field. That doesn't even take into account the enormous sums of money they are paying Flozell, Allen and Rivera. They have invested high picks and a lot of money into the OL and that is the worst part of the team.

Excellent observation, Bruce.

This is exactly why Parcells was so tentative with his play-calling.

Sometimes, though, in trying to protect the most vulnerable too vigorously you can actually reap very poor results (as we saw today).

Our defense is on the doorstep, but just hasn't jelled enough to close the deal.

Once it does, though - then this type of strategy may work (as frustrating as it is to watch).

I think a lot of fans don't listen to Bill in his press conferences when he talks about how certain positions have held him hostage. Well, I think the OL is holding him hostage at times this season. It isn't always. It isn't even the same guys week in and week out, but it just seems like they can't ever get all the parts working together the way they should.

Can you blame him.........I don't trust them either. It became very obvious today that Pettitee needs help on most plays especially when there is a speedrushing DE on his side. They can't seem to work together on a consistent basis!.......and we got nine more games to go!

Coming home to get ready for the Cards then the bye week coming up. That will give our coaching staff some time to coach up these guys. Lets see how we do in Filthy and beyond. You are never as bad as you seem and today we did have our moments.
