I am sooooooo EXCITED to have Wade Phillips in the house.......with NEW ideas.....listens to his coaches.......players.......and well, even fans a little bit!

I really don't believe I will miss little bill at all........it was his way or the highway......Mr. Jones let him buy the grocries sp?.....make the meals......and all we have to show for it from a fan's perspective is an UPSET STOMACH!

How do you ZONER's feel? Are you missing bill or enjoying Wade? :star:

CC,

I am starting to get pumped again. I was glad to see Parcell's brought on board initially but purely based on what little I could see from T.V. and from reports, it appeared to me that BP had worn down some of the players and if we believe what we've heard since his departure, he wasn't willing to make the changes needed to compete at the end of the season.

I don't know where WP ranks for greatness but his style may be just what is needed at this particular moment. The Cowboys have several questions but I am in your camp in terms of thinking that WP could be great for us. Go Cowboys!

You really cant compare Wade to Bill.

Wade hasn't won a single playoff game.

I don't like a lot of the coaching hires [he hired his kid? Are you serious?] and the DC debacle is a joke [Stewart? come on. Hire someone with experience]

Thank goodness we have Sparano as AHC [we all know he's running the Offense]

I think the jury is gonna be out of Wade for this season.

Lord help us if this is "Campo redux"

I'm excited too man. Very excited. For once we'll have three top level coaches HC/OC/DC working together instead of having a HC speak for his coordinators. This season is going to be fun.

You mention 3 jobs [HC/OC/DC], but the "high command" includes 4.

HC - Wade
AHC - Sparano
OC - Garrett
DC - ??? Stewart

Of these 4, only Sparano has any experience coaching the Cowboys at a high level.

Garrett and ?Stewart have never been Coordinators.

Wade has never won anything.

Sparano is gonna be the leader of this bunch.

I am still in stunned disbelief that Wade Phillips is now the coach Of my Cowboys.

Bland. That's the word that sums it up.

I hope he is better than I think.

The bottom line is, as I stated, this won't be a mesh of multiple mute bodies represented by one mouth/mind. This wil lget back to a collaboration of ideas between people who mutually respect each other and are willing to listen to others in the group.

For me it is a bit of both. I like Parcells and I thank him for his role in helping this team get back on the right track. I'm excited about Phillips and hope he can continue improving this team to get where we all would like to see them which is the Super Bowl.

Not to rehash the old, but the Cowboys could have done better than Wade P.

Jerry must be the most terrible interviewer in the NFL in that he seems to be taken in by the serious look/demeanor and football knowledge that a Phillips or a Gailey can show in an interview.

But that is in the past now . . . .

We gotta get pumped up.

But I'm not crazy about a Stewart when we could have had Rivera.

Not even that pleased with Garrett who will undoubtedly have growing pains while on the job. Couldn't he have spent a couple of years in arena before becoming our coach?

Everthing Jerry has done so far since man boobs left seems to have been done out of deseration.

And keeping Sparano is not great news. He's a Parcells guy. That might create friction between him and the new coaches.

In a nutshell, I'm excited because of Romo, T.O., JJ and Barber and Witten.
And a defense that seems to have stagnated late in the season last year but has some seriously great athletes. I do think the defense will blossom under WP and his puppet Stewart.

Maybe it is true, Parcells the nag, the shrew, the critic wore down the Cowboys and they just kinda quit on him. Parcells left a stench at the ranch.

:(

Well i will rehash old stuff because you are stating things that have been gone over time and time again. And youre conclusion was the wrong one.

The only coach that have a winning record and have won playoff games would be Dan Reeves. Reeves coaching style is very similar to Parcells AND hed been out of coaching for 5 years now. That would be Parcells 2.0.

Cowher was not coming and neither was Fisher.

Rivera is so good that he got demoted this offseason and as for Norv Turner all one needs do is look at his record in Washington BEFORE Snyder showed up.

So exactly who is your fantasy hire?

I like the hire. Wade will bring the kind of defense the fans have been wanting for the last couple of years. BP's 3-4 was line up and win individual battles, mano y mano style. DWare lines up at left end everytime and rushes the passer either standing or in a 3 point stance. Offense's knew he was gonna be there every time and he was always going against the Olines best player. The Dline was strictly two gap and straight ahead. Blitzing was either sending Bradie James up the middle or Ellis from the strongside. No imagination whatso ever. Wade will bring more of an attacking defense that will try and hide where the blitz will be coming from until the snap of the ball. He will rely on pressure to keep the secondary from having to cover wr's for 4 seconds at a time.

Roy needs to play closer to the line of scrimmage and cover the mid level routes. He can handle that, as long as he doesnt have to turn, run and look for the ball, he should be fine.

Now, if the offense can keep up what they were doing and score points, I think we will be fine. Romo will be the key for that, if he plays like the he did in his first 5 starts we can be in contention.

I liked what Bill did in the FO office position. As a GM and talent evaluator, he made us a contender. We have the foundation to be a good team for years to come. He seems to have found a solution that we have inadequately addressed since Aikman was ended by Arrington, QB.

If Wade wins, it will be with Bill Parcells team.

Im glad we have Wade, as opposed to some of the other guys suggested, especially Norv. I liked Ryan as well, but Wade was my favorite out of the bunch.

I really like BP's old school mentality. I really enjoyed his press conferences. I think he prepared the team pretty well, especially in the off season (look at the low number of injuries). I like Phillip's approach to defense as opposed to BP's a little bit more. I don't think a defense based on winning individual match ups is a bad idea, Bill does have more rings than Wade. I didnt like the stubborness that BP exhibited when his time tested method's did not work.

Overall,
I'm happy with the team that BP has assembled.
I'm excited to see what Wade does with that team, especially D. Also want to see if Jason Garret is really going to open up this offense.
