Caught the tail end of the local sports tonight. Some story about Parcells insulting Jansen about the steroids issue. Apparently, this happened in a magazine interview. Anyone know what this is about?

I beleive this is the statement your thinking about:

Parcells points out Commanders right tackle Jon Jansen. “This is Jansen getting pushed back,” he says. “He doesn’t look like the player he was a couple of years ago.” The right side of the Commanders’ line seems to have trouble with twists. If Newman can cover Moss long enough, Jansen won’t be able to hold off Greg Ellis or Marcus Spears, the Cowboys’ pass rushers he has to block.

This may be suprising to most but, if there is one Commander that I wouldn't piss on if he were on fire....it is Jansen. I cannot stand this guy. I turn the channel on draft day when he's speaking.

I don't like his cocky attitude.

It's one thing to be angry and fired up about something, and it is another if you can't do anything about it. Doubt he can do anything about it!

The skins are mad about that?

The funny thing is jansen and samuels look like different players this year to me. I think that achilles injury and the nagging injuries to samuels every year have caught up, they are both going to be on the wrong side of 30 soon when samuels turns 30 and that is a bad thing for washington.

Every Commanders game I have watched this year jansen and samuels have struggled mightily. Doesnt mean they will this week or the rest of the year, just that they look overmatched sometimes.

Greg ellis has had good games against jansen through the years, just like he has runyan. I expect him to have another one this week.

The Commanders are going to be fired up sunday so I doubt they need bulletin board material.

Look how gibbs talked about the people of Dallas saying we are all ugly before last years game, and they still won. I dont think this is real bulletin board material. Especially if you read all 10 pages of that ny times article he compliments gibbs, portis and moss routinely.

If that indeed is what all of this is about.

They should realize that even though this article was recently, the things bill was saying to the reporter was actually said BEFORE we played them LAST TIME.

An in essence it seemed like Bill was right as we went on to have a pretty good game against them LAST TIME.

If you check out extremeskins.com... they have a thread discussing what Parcells said. I believe a large portion of the Skins fans actually agree with Parcells on that statement.

you might have heard him on a bad day- he doesnt seem to come off very cocky generally.

the local radio show had him on earlier this week and asked him about what he thought of parcells comments and jansen said he probably did have a few bad plays here and there but feels he's playing well overall. like the above poster said, i'm not sure i'm happy with anyone on the O line. when you play the worst run D's in the league on back to back weeks and cant run the ball, its starts with the O line, although the play calling is suspect as well.

It sure is. And the D.C. media asked Parcells about that, and he said he's always thought a lot of Jansen and knows he's a good player.

He also talked about how much he liked Cooley before his draft and how he knew the Skins had a good player when they drafted him, putting an end to yet another ridiculously contrived Skins bulletin board game.
