When I first looked at it I said no way that was a safety... And when I seen it a 2nd time I said no way that is a safety... The ball was over the line IMO...

I kinda wondered about that one too...looked like the ball got out of the endzone when his knee goes down, and its where the ball is, not where your knee lands

It was quite iffy.

But I still would have blown the timeout.

I am sure he never thought his team would collapse mentally to an inferior opponent though.

According to Brad Sham on the radio, he said that Bill had the red flag in his hand while talking to the head linesman. I'm guessing the HL told him that there was NO way that would be overturned, and Bill believed him. He put the flag back in his pocket.

His knee wasn't down until after the ball was out of the endzone, but the refs may have called him down by his helmet if they reviewed it.
