If the Cowboys go deep into the playoffs, do you think Parcells sticks around?

I don't get alot of Dallas news where I live, but all I've heard in the past is that he was most likely retiring after this season.

I don't think he's going anywhere until the season is over. That's my opinion.

I think he stays for one more year unless something big happens.

Romo is his guy. No way he bolts when the team is now set up for a long time.

Whenever he does decide to hang up the whistle, I think he should play a major role in selecting the next coach.

He deserves to help pick the coach that will raise the powerhouse that he has given birth to.

I can see Bill quitting if we a) don't make the playoffs or b) win the Superbowl.

Otherwise he's staying.

Totally agree that Parcells stays around at least another year. Romo was developed under Parcells and this team is finally playing like I believe all along he thought it could. He may be on the verge of another SB if not this year then next year. We've still got weaknesses on the OL and at FS but all teams have weaknesses in this age of parity. Romo's play has rejenevated(sp?) Parcells and he wants reap the rewards. No way does he leave this year unless we win SB, then who knows?

I think that he still may come back if we don't make the playoffs, simply because he has a nice young team here. I wholly agree on the SB thing. He would love to go out on top I think...

Totally agree. BP will stay as long as he thinks he has a good shot at winning the SB. If he wins, his coaching legacy will be secure and he can ride off to the racetrack again.

Of course, this team is built for the future, and if the Cowboys should win the SB, he might want to stick around for a few more years to see how many he can win.

I just can't see him quitting under just about any senario.

How could he? All the s**t he has to put up with during a rebuilding project. All the work he's put in these last 3 years. Do you think he's really going to let someone else come in hear and reap the rewards.

If Romo and this team is what we think, if they are on the brink of greatness, he can't leave. Even if we win this years Superbowl. I think next year is a given. He might hang it up after 2007 if we win the Superbowl. However, I wouldn't be surprised if he stays til 2008 or even 2009!
Those of you who might think that is impossible, don't realize how much Parcells loves to win!

He has an obligation to finish his contract.
He has an obligation to Romo.
He has an obligation to finish what he started.

With that said... BP will walk away from anything... although WE HAVE SOMETHING SPECIAL here... this could be different

he said something on his show this past week that made me wonder if he would be around next year. He is ussually very careful how he words things so it keeps the room for interpretation very small. He was asked by babe laufenburg if he was more energized now that the team and tony were playing so well. He said speculation was always there about coaches jobs and that he has dealt with it his whole career. Then he said he knew he could deal with it for the rest of this season. That caught my attention given the way he always works the media. Probably meant nothing though.

It's almost impossible to say this anymore with the popularity of the Internet. I feel absolutely certain that i could be in Antarctica and as long as I could access this forum, I'd know what was going on with the Cowboys. Not a doubt in my mind.

He will stay as long as they continue to win;after that they will aggressively pursue Charlie Weiss from the great ND college.
