Parsons a better rusher than tank or randy

    He's best on the attack.

I said before, wrongly, don't forget that Randy White started as a LB and became a DE.

Yeah, Randy became a DT. But...still..he found his calling on the attack after being a bust at LB.

    It can work.

I'm eating alllllll kinds of Crow about Parsons. I don't dislike the experiment.

    Maybe it's serendipity?

The thing that stands out is his speed. Initially, Herbert had time, but when he had to hold the ball, Parsons closed that gap quickly.

Plenty of time to figure that out. Let's see how it goes over the next few games.

No doubt. But he’s also Rhine
My thoughts exactly. As the play unfolded, a smile came to my face when I saw it was #11 coming up on the QB. He closed the distance so quickly, like he had a rocket strapped to his back.

I hope they don't put him on the edge permanently. He can be a great rusher, but it limits what he can do overall. As a MLB he can effect more of the game and showcase more of his skills as a total football player.

A Derrick Thomas would be nice, but I'd rather have a Ray Lewis (as a player and leader).

No. I love MP, but he isn't a better DE than Tank.

On the 'sack', the pulling guard had Parsons bottled up and let him go after ~3 seconds, long after Herbert should have gotten rid of the ball. Props to Parsons for staying with the play. Super high motor and no give up. And the way he closed on Herbert once he was free....dude is FAST. Not saying he didn't have a good game. He did.

Jaylon had a very good game as well, as did LVE.

It pays to remember the disastrous decision to change our entire defensive scheme last year, especially with the limited prep due to Covid. Tank never complained about what he was asked to do, but he was well outside his wheelhouse. Too bad he broke his foot. This system is one he'll excel in.

Our defense is much better this year. You guys don't give Lawrence and Gregory the credit they deserve when they're put into a position to succeed. Last year wasn't it, and more props to the FO for getting rid of Nolan with a quickness. He was a disaster.

He goes back to linebacker. Did you see our rushing defense today at times with MP on the edge? We are a better team with Parsons at linebacker.

I think O and Gallimore will make a good DT tandem.

I was just thinking the same. He has an undeniably rare motor to him. That Maxx Crosby kid with the Raiders is the same way. They can go 9/10 or better all game long. That's what breaks down the O-line.

Parsons is a freak He can play linebacker dline corner or safety Just tell him what you want him to do and he will do it. Really want to see him on a few running plays as the runner maybe at tight end also. Can he throw a back shoulder fade?

    I loved him coming out
But DT is a tough position
I think he’s gonna be really good
I just think projecting elite status as some have sets a mighty high bar

    That's actually a great question.
    He was really good yesterday.
He was relentless, which I love to see. He just kept coming and had an impact.
He definitely has juice off the edge, and let's face it, EDGE is the premier paid position in the NFL defensively.
If I'm Parsons, I'd be all for it. I'd get him some work against our Ts in practice.
Top EDGE's are Bosa (27) and Garrett (25), plus TJ (28) and Mack (24) while classified as LBs are really EDGE rushers too.
Compare those salaries to true LB's. Way more coin in the EDGE class.
For the Cowboys too, if he will be potentially dominant at either position, why not have him play the more important position?
With our LB depth, we can probably afford to play him more at EDGE.
With both EDGEs out of this game, we needed him at EDGE.
If Gregory is back next week, maybe he plays both positions, then when DLaw returns, we can see where we are at and where we need him most.

I think he was trying to say it's a shame that Gregory/D-law rarely showed theses flashes, especially when the team put in time, premier picks, and premier money.

He's not ungrateful for Parsons, he was merely pointing out it's a shame that some rookie is coming and outperforming 2x 2nd rounders with over a decade of combined NFL experience.
