Another waste of a #2 pick. Marty B has as many TD's this season as Escobar has catches.

How many TD catches did Bennett have as a rookie? 4? Esco has one so far, I believe...

You're a patient man.

MartyB is a veteran that got a 20 million dollar contract this past off-season. The Cowboys can't pay 20 million for a backup TE.

What were MartyB's stats as a rookie?

Having a Jason Witten the Cowboys had no business using #2 picks on Fasano, Marty B or Escobar. Marty B had 20 catches for 283 yards and 4 TD's as a rookie. After 7 games Escobar isn't on pace to even sniff those numbers. Miami got more out of Fasano than the Cowboys ever did and it only cost them a 4th round pick. The Giants almost got as much production out of Mary B in one season than the Cowboys did in 4 years. The Bears have a chance to get 800-900 yards and 10 TD's out of him this season. Escobar looks like another one who'll be producing for someone else in 4 years.

If you get proven wrong will you own up to it like when you said the Eagles were a good team?

However you read them, it confirms what my eyes tell me. Austin is done and I think we will see less and less of him. Miles is a wide open player and needs space to perform. When games get down and dirty, like today, he can't function.

BTW..Hope you don't mind if I steal the stats?

The same guy who was selling you all on Beasley while you all were not having it is also telling you to take it easy when it comes to Escobar. He needs to find his way on to the field, and he just needs to develop.

I think Beasley missed the first 2 or 3 games this year, and this is his 2nd year in the nfl. Escobar is a rookie and he has a ton of people ahead of him. At the moment he isn't the best option. Which isn't to discredit him.

Provide a post where I said the Eagles were a "good team?" I never said they were a "good team" you just got proven wrong.

The Cowboys allowed Mary B to walk after the 2011 season. He was picked up by the Giants for one year and his production in NY earned him the contract he was offered by the Bears.

Yes, I think about 99.9 percent of Cowboys fans are aware of that fact; however, it is not related to the fact the a rookie's production was being compared to a highly paid veteran's production.

Did you expect him to come right in and look like Vernon Davis or something?

Seems really unfair to claim him as a bust so soon.

I'm saying the same thing I said on draft day he's a wasted pick due to the Cowboys already having a great player at the position. He's going to have a very difficult time living up to his draft status playing with Witten. On a team that doesn't have a Jason Witten he would probably be productive. Look at the production Fasano and Marty B have put up since leaving Dallas. All the Cowboys are doing are developing TE's for other teams to get the most out of in 4 years from now. The Cowboys could have drafted a TE in the 4th or 5th round and used that #2 to try and replace a Jay Ratliff who most of us knew was done in Dallas at the end of last season.

They could have used that pick on a player to replace Spencer who's on his way out. I'm not saying Escobar is a bad player but with Jason Witten still playing at a high level he's never going to be very productive. I expect a lot of bang out of a #2 pick and it's unlikely we'll ever get much of a bang out of Escobar unless Witten gets hurt. Williams is producing because Austin hasn't been healthy. He's being used and we're already getting a bang out of him. He's already lived up to his draft status after only 7 games. He's starting to produce like a #1 pick. There's no point in using a high pick on a player if they're not going to get many opportunities.

Escobar's current production is on pace to be worse than Marty B's production his rookie year.

Right now Escobar's production is on pace to be worse than Marty B's production his rookie year.

On pace? It is already worse.

With that said, it was/is not Marty's or Escobar's fault, they are not used right in this offense. Dallas could draft Gonzo 2.0 and he would be used the same way.

For an offense that was supposed to revolve around Tight Ends, it sure disappoints.

Terrance Williams is having the single biggest impact on the offense this year. Having a real threat opposite Dez is HUGE.

I still have to say Frederick. Unbelievable how less-often Romo is running for his life, now.

Didn't claim he's a bust I said he's a wasted pick because he's going to have a very difficult time living up to his #2 draft status playing with Witten. He's going to be judged on production. it made no sense using a #2 pick on a TE when you have a future HOF player at the position. You would think the Cowboys would have learned that by now after already burning two #2's on TE's the past 8 years. Neither Fasnao or Bennett lived up to their draft status and Escobar is off to the same unproductive start.

Put Escobar on a team that doesn't have a quality pass receiving TE and he might be very productive. Both Fasano and Bennett have been productive since getting out from behind Witten's shadow. You're suppose to use high picks on positions of real need especially when you're a 500 team so that player can step right in and contribute. I would have much rather used the pick on the DL or OL and drafted a TE in the 4th or 5th round.

The Cowboys still have 9 games left so it doesn't matter if his production is worse right now. His production is on pace to be worse than Bennett's his rookie year but with 9 games left there's still a chance he might start to produce. He could possibly make a huge play in a critical game near the end of the season that could help propel the Cowboys into the playoffs. I'm just waiting for him to do something that shows why they used a #2 pick on him.

I feel that he will pan out. Despite his cringeworthy moments it seems that Romo has no issue throwing his way. He has a big frame and looks to have respectable speed and hands. I think the situation with him is more compatable for a solid career than with MB and Fasano. He will have time to be groomed a bit under Witten as its pretty clear that Jason is in the twilight of his career.
Of coarse Im wrong pretty damn often these days, but time will tell.
