I've done a lot of reading on this guy , and what people have said, this dude is 4Real - he knows offense as well. Rivera they say is as sharp a football man that there is, and he's a tireless worker.
We need to wait on him, I don't care about 4-3's or 3-4's or How bad Roy Williams will look - who cares about Roy Williams, I don't.

Be patient Jerry...:star:

Totally agree that Rivera looks to be the best choice. So obviously Jerrah will go with Wade Phillips.

I don't know much about Rivera, but I'd rather have him over Wade Phillips. Count on Jerry not having a clue and hiring Bum Jr.

You have to consider the fact that he is running Smiths defense and using Smiths philosophies, who knows what we are going to get once the apprentice leaves the master.

As long as he doesn't run a Tampa 2 here.

Thats why I mentioned him running Lovie's schemes. What is Rivera's speciality? I don't think anyone truly knows.

Yeah, no one really knows. I'm not sure if they're running a typical Tampa 2 in Chicago anyway. He stated that he's flexible with schemes. If a guy's smart enough he can run and coach any scheme -- just look at Rex Ryan.

He's coached for Jim Johnson and the Eagles longer than he's coached for Lovie.

So here's a question. Would Jerrah be able to tell Rivera, "We want you. Who would you want on your staff." Could the Boys make some preliminary phone calls to gauge interest? Would that be tampering as far as league rules go? We haven't really contacted the Bears to negotiate, just gauge interest.

Don't let this thread die.

Cowboy Jeff tell Jerry to at least wait and talk to Rivera. You can do it. You were invited to "The Unvieling" of the new stadium. You're the man. Now go do it . Thanks.:D

I agree it would be a brutal mistake by not hiring this guy, Jerry is so in to finding a mentor for Romo that he could be passing on one of the best coaches out there.
