i agree that weeden is physically incapable. is cassel physically better? how could he not be? but on the other hand, weeden knows the offense, while cassel just got here. i think they are both similar right now because of that.

He's got 2 weeks to prepare, he's obviously been around differing playbooks and isn't a wet behind the ear rookie and more importantly if a play breaks down maybe JUST maybe this guy will improvise or do SOMETHING to try to extend the play. Something ANYTHING. I dont' get how anyone says it can be worse. What he throws 4 turnovers? Okay, so we lose. We were going to lose anyway with deer in the headlights brain dead Weeden.

I don't think that has ever been true.

why was he the second qb then?

If not then I'm not sure when.

sadly, weeden took our chances to experiment. he won against the eagles and didn't offend during the atlanta and new orleans games. only last night did he show how truly incapable he is. but the giants though? that's an important game. want to roll with a newcomer? i guarantee you coaches don't think like that.

How much more can this offense be dumbed down? It's not like the full play book is open for Weeden.

even a simple playbook is difficult for a newcomer.

Listen more intently upon subject...Weeden does not see play development, or receivers getting open downfield. Marry that with a strict targeting of short yardage up the center and right side of field. Both kill realistic play developments in both the running and passing games.

i know, i know. weeden is obviously very cruddy. cassel is bad too.

but Weeden always at a proven game killing level. Both before, and now in his NFL career. He lacks both application skills in delivery and ability to analyze game action. That is much more damaging to a competitive team...now for a number one draft pick, he works.

...The obvious question is about Matt Cassel, and whether he’ll replace Weeden going forward. Sunday was the first time since he was acquired on Sept. 22 that Cassel was active for a game – leading to a bit of an obvious answer when Garrett was asked if the veteran felt comfortable with the offense.

“He’s certainly comfortable enough,” he said. “We wouldn’t have put him in that situation yesterday to be the backup qb with a possibility of going into the game if something were to happen to Brandon.

“He’s worked hard, he’s a veteran player, he’s a smart guy, he’s been here for a little bit. There are always levels of knowing something. The more you’re around something the more experienced you are with the people doing it together, the better you’re going to be at it. But he’s certainly comfortable with our system.”

Whether that means Cassel will take over as the Cowboys’ starter is anyone’s guess for the time being. The Cowboys are expected to practice twice during the bye week, and they’ll then have a full game week preparation for their Week 7 trip to play the Giants.

If Garrett has an idea about any changes to come, he’s not sharing it for now. In the coming days, he said his entire roster is up for evaluation – headlined by the quarterback spot.

“I don’t want to get into the whole thing,” he said. “We’re going to evaluate our quarterbacks, we’re going to evaluate our offensive line, we’re going to evaluate our tight ends, our receivers, our running backs, everybody on defense and everybody in the kicking game. We’ll do that this week and we’ll make any determination as the week goes on.”

Dear Jason, a little self-evaluation wouldn't hurt either.......

I think garrett sticks with weeden, watch the initial PC video, he got upset when asked about a QB change.
He also thought weeden played well. he was more concerned with protection and WR not getting open.
He will also stick with Randle, I dont expect to see CM either unless it is another 3rd and 1.

I think Jason thinks in terms of when you go with a guy , you stay with him till he is hurt or plays really bad.
I also think Jason does not realize how much they need to win the upcoming giants eagle games, they are div games,
so you put a loss on them as well as get a win.
To Jason it is just another game, you try to win them all each game is the same, and he approaches each game the same way.
That is his process, no one game means more than another, and that is flawed.
And that is just my theory, could be wrong.

Also in the pc jason said about the qb , that they evaluate the qb and others each week, as that is also part of the process.
So him saying he is evaluating doesnt mean much.
The first half with NE, was mostly 3 and outs, so you would think he would try cassell in 2nd half, but he did not even consider that.
He said at the half he was staying with weeden.
This is a issue JG has not had to deal with before, and he is doing what is in his nature, and that is pick a guy and go with him.
Also as a former bkup qb himself, I think he is treating weeden how he himself would want to be treated.
So I think weeden starts again in NY.

with the giants next game, you don't want to go with a guy who hasn't been here more than a month. weeden gives us the best chance to win, sadly.

You cannot say that with any certainty at all.

It is more likely that the giants defense game plans... And game plans VERY WELL for WeDone!

It's a loss.

Watching his 45 attempts at scoring a TD in the last two minutes from within the 10 yard line should tell you all you need to know. He cannot do it. All his fade attempts are mechanical looking predetermined throws. He has no feel for the position. His long throws are just chucks. 5 yard patterns on 3rd and 7. 3 and out, 3 and out, 3 and out. So he can throw a 98 mile an hour pitch, so what.

If he were a computer, he would have a 200 gig hard drive and no ram.

How much worse can it be if you can't score???? Change the QB just to shake it up.

Both of Weeden's picks were into double coverage. On the first pick, the camera is right behind him so it shows exactly his line of site. He throws it right at the dropping lineman. Right at him. The offensive game plan is not working. If teams don't respect the QB, they stack the box. They even highlighted it during the game how NE was stacking the box, and Weeden cannot take advantage. Change it up.

I am honestly starting to wonder if the fans are the only ones with hope for this season and that the powers to be have given up hope five games in.

Somebody has to lose an arm or a leg for Garrett to make a change,he is a terrible talent evaluator.

If they are just looking ahead to the draft then I wish they would just tell us. That way we won't have to worry about the rest of the season.

If Cassel isn't ready then why have him suit as #2? In any event, you keep the status quo for the sake of continuity, but lose another stinker to New York and their won't be any corner of Texas where Garrett can hide from the fall-out. Weeden's days are numbered now...it's only a question of how many and will it come too late to keep the ship from sinking.

200 gig? That's tiny! Do you mean like 6 TBs?

On second thought, nevermind. 200 gb is probably right in this case.
