As with Free, I do not have the last two minutes of the game. McQuisten played a solid game, but not quite as good as Free did

· McQuisten single blocks DE, but is initially partially knocked off balance.
· Blocks DE well, but loses guy in pileup, and slides off to attempt to find LB, his DE assisted in tackle, but only after Choice was stood up by another player.
· Finds noone to block, somewhat blocks a LB on play, but after plays is almost over.
· Holds up pocket well, stones his guy completely/
· Is pushed back, but does not allow his man to pressure QB.
· McQuisten locks onto and turns his man, the DT to open hole, but does not drive his man anywhere.
· Is pushed back some, but does not allow his guy to pressure Kitna.
· McQuisten pushes his man outside past Kitna, to give Kitna a good pocket and throwing lane.
· McQuisten holds line with his guy. Gets no push, but his man is not involved in the play.
· Scraps off to LB, and does solid job of locking up with LB, and moving with him, but does not drive out of play.
· Pushes his man well out of play as he attempts to beat McQuisten outside with a speed rush to create open lane for Kitna.
· Screen pass keeps in front of his guy.
· Running play away, drops into pass block stance and locks onto guy to keep from chasing play down from behind.
· Man attempts to speed rush, he continues to escort him around Kitna.
· DE attempts outside rush, and McQuisten holds ground, when Kitna steps back into pocket, he give chance for McQuistens man to break off outside of McQuisten, and he pressures Kitna.
· DE attempts to bull rush McQuisten. He holds his ground well, and his man doesn’t pressure Kitna at all.
· DE stats inside, so McQuisten blocks him for a second and passes him off to guard, and peels off to pickup blitzing LB.
· Quick pass, his man attempts rush, but doesn’t get anywhere partially because of 3 step on time pass.
· McQuisten locks onto man, and stands him up and gets slight push on play. His man is not involved in the play.
· McQuisten blocks to pass block stance to protest DE from running play down from behind. His man is not involved in the play.
· McQuisten is partially beat by DE on hard outside rush after DE lining up outside of TE on his side. But does keep blocking him and the DE is left to diving at Kitnas feet, but does force Kitna to throw the ball, and probably forced high throw.
· McQuisten drop steps and locks onto man who is not involved in the play.
· McQuisten pass blocks, man gets on McQuistens outside shoulder, but McQuisten keep blocking, McGeee just keeps dropping back not stepping up into the pocket.
· McQuisten stonewalls his guy on pass rush attempt
· False start on McQuisten.
· Stonewalls pash rusher
· McQuistens man attempts outside rush and he runs him out of the play completely.
· Cut blocks DE on rush away.
· Draw play, entire line drops to setup for pass block. Locks onto guy and he does nothing.
· Blocks man, gives up some ground, but keeps him well off McGee.
· Stands up man, and turns him, but does not drive him out of play.
· Drop steps to pickup outside DE, and keep him off play, but trips over Free.

McQ doesn't have the feet that Free does, but I think he can be a servicable 4th tackle this year.

I would think that McQ's replacement will be drafted next April.

Didn't we think that last April?

That's a good point.

I'm just not sure that Brewster is big enough for tackle. He might be a better guard.

That being said, I think another tackle will be drafted-- not that someone has to be a rocket surgeon to think that the Cowboys will draft a tackle. :)

I've always thought he didn't have the feet to play OT...... I believe he'd be a better fit playing OG. Which he's had some time playing OG too...... Plus, as hard as it is for us (apparently) to judge quality lineman, I'd rather have him with his experience so far, than a new rook.

You know what, before Friday I would have called you crazy. But after seeing him in person I completely agree. By the way, I don't think he has the athleticism required to play OG either. Might have to bulk up a little and stick to OT.

I really want a Proctor PbP. That guy false-started the entire O-Line twice.
I still have the vision of him frozen in stance alone last year while TR was mauled by his guy (Tuck) in the endzone. :banghead:

Like with Free the question is was he blocking a quality player or a JAG?

From what i've heard they like Brewster(and most of their backups) to be able to play a little of each. But you're right, his best possition in the NFL may indeed be G.

No, he didn't. Gurode was the center the first time it happened.

When the ref said 'false start on everyone but the center' I thought that was Proctor. My bad.

I thought Gurode did it twice. Gotta go back and re-watch that.

The first one was Gurode. The second one, Procter was in.

Also, SMC thanks for your analysis, they are truly a welcome addition to the forum no matter what some might say. Keep up the good work.:)

Adam: Is this how eery player in a game is graded on every play?

Not Adam, but yes. Players are graded on every play, and are not graded until the coach can rewatch the film without the excitement of the moment.

To many fans make this mistake of getting caught up in the moment, and judging a players played based on a few big plays that stuck out in the heat of the moment. But, coaches know that even on those plays, you don't always know the whole story unless you go back and rewatch it later.
