Good teams plan ahead. They are trying to prepare for life after Brady. Maybe Jimmy works out maybe not but they are getting ready.
What are the Boys doing? Very little foresight. Getting fleeced in trades. Hurts watching as a fan.

Brady will be 37 in Aug. and Romo just turned 34 so if we just copy the Pats we would get a QB in the 2017 draft. I hope we don't wait that long.

Romo had two back surgeries within a year. Brady .....healthier.

Brady just had one of the worst statistical seasons of his career. Romo just had one of his better statistical seasons.

Love the Garoppolo pick for the Pats. Don't see how it related to the Cowboys at all, though. We weren't taking a 2nd round QB today.

The Cowboys never address needs until it gets real bad...Offensive Line, Defense, QB. They are never ahead of the game.

They really aren't. I heard Chip Kelly talking this year about running the Eagles roster they way he ran a college program: making moves three years ahead and stocking his roster with that sort of turnover in mind. I'd love to see Dallas moving in that direction. It's been tough, because we've blown up the defense along the way and have had some issues finding the right OLs and secondary players quickly. Hopefully, we're slowly getting ahead of that curve. It felt like we were, but then the DL evaporating the way it did this past season pulls us right back into the mess we were in. It's kind of frustrating.

Hopefully we get a couple bluebirds in players like Johnson, or Holloman, or Bass or getting Brent back. Anything to get a couple players in the lineup where we don't appear to have anything much to work with.

Great pick by the Pats. He'll learn under one of the best ever with a great coach.

The guy has great skills.

Pats actually drafted a QB 3 years ago in Mallett which is now trade bait.

I'd honestly prefer we not spend our draft picks on QB's at this moment. We have a franchise QB and a decent backup in Orton. Would it be great if we had a young buck waiting in the wings? Of course.

But unless there's a guy the team really believes in, I'd rather they draft other positions. Look at how many QB's enter the league every year. Most don't pan out at all or end up being crappy backups. Having them turn into trade bait isn't a guarantee either.

They reached for a QB because there is a verbally agreed upon trade for Mallett with the Texans. Garoppolo is terrible under pressure and that spells trouble. Not worth a 2nd.

It a depends on Romo's health and how he come back from injury. I don't think Romo is a particularly quick healer. But, I think if Martin is the real deal and the defense comes back a bit, then we can draft a 1st round QB in 2015. I think the main issue is that we should have never given Romo that extension. Horrendous move.

if he really had cyst removed then I consider him to really have had 1 back surgery. Although that surgery is not small potatoes.

unless you have not figured it out by now, all players are one hit from being done. Look at Peyton Manning.

Not exactly the same. Someone with multiple back surgeries is far more vulnerable. I'm sure you know that.

The Patriots have done what every team thats ever had a great qb has done and that's hold on to him till his arm falls off, they haven't made some kinda shrewd move.

Trying to recoup something from a wasted pick.when they shoulda been drafting Welkers replacement 3 years ago.
