Patmon and Heath returning will help a lot

I know people hate on Heath and I certainly do not blame them but in this case he will be getting snaps over Spillman which has been a trainwreck. Spillman often has what I like to call Dixonitis where the subject gets to his drop and just stares down the QB doing nothing until the throw is completed.

Patmon is one of our best zone defenders and would likely be in over a S or LB in some of the passing sets we have had out there. Depending on how much he can go, he could help a lot. If he can make another play of the ball it would be a major boon.

When was the last time they had both? I was wondering if it was the seahawks game which is when the secondary played their best game.

Patmon got hurt versus Jax week 10 and Heath got hurt against the Giants two weeks later.

Heath is key in Special Team's and we haven't ran Dime since Patmon went out for injury so against a team like the pigeons expect to see some dime defense out there with these guys, Dline has to step up with pressure in those dime situations.

Heath's actually a good ST player, and a nice guy to bring in at S3, as far as that position goes in this league. Why do people dislike him so much? He's always around the ball...

i say the same he has a knack for making plays, and even though he could be better in coverage he is always around the ball when its in the air its just making a play on it that he has trouble with. Anyways he is a good ST player and maybe a starter in the future at FS he does have some speed..

Heath is a 2nd year guy and is improving every week since hes been here and he is "RKG" material......Patmon is a 1st year guy and if we had won the arizona game he would have been a big reason we did.... now that being said i would rather have both these guys instead of Lawrence who was drafted high and traded up 4, so u see dont bash players that are good bash the ones that have yet to show up

I agree that he's often around the ball, but it's time for him to actually makes plays on the ball.

Heath has been on the wrong end of some bad plays too much for my liking.

I agree that he's often around the ball, but it's time for him to actually makes plays on the ball.

He does give up a lot of plays when he's right in position to make them. That may be why people are down on him, because it's easy to see he's right there.

The DET game last year I think is one everybody remembers. But he also made some big positive plays in that game, too.

"Being around the ball," is that like almost sacking the QB?

It's worse. Almost sacking the QB at least pressures the guy. Almost making a play downfield doesn't do anything but make you look dumb. He does, though, actually make some plays. And he probably is responsible for some not going his way when he's in good position. The guy's got range, and can hit. He's a try hard guy. And a good ST'er. We could do a lot worse, and have done.

*sigh*

Waters, Harris, Green, Downs, Thurman, Marion (VERY underrated), Woodson…

Where, oh where, have the good/great Cowboys safeties gone?

Perpetuated myth just like many other players. Enough say negative things and it becomes reality.
