Underrated and at the beginning of the season underused. He continually has made plays the past 3 years whenever he's gotten the ball thrown his way.

I'm glad Romo has been getting the ball to him. And to think - Crayton was a 7th round draft pick. :)

Right now, all our WRs and TEs are getting more passes thrown their way. I don't want to blame everything on DB, but he did get locked into Glenn an awful lot.

I also love to see our 5 WR set now....before, I was sick to my stomach to see it. But Romo runs it so well.

Hell, we run the no-back set on 1st and 2nd down now.

He had a great game but the guy needs to put two arms on the ball when he gets in traffic. That one arm $%^& has cost us before.

Crayton does scare you with how he carries the ball after the catch. He was a QB in college, so maybe he still needs to work at his overall receiving game. But I was so pleased with his performance today.

And Romo wasn't even drafted!

Definitely. Seems like every time he has the ball his first move is to put it in one hand. Makes me very, very nervous.

He's got hands like velcro...until after the catch that is.

He's been quite a find for a former college QB turned 7th round WR.
He adjust to the ball very well and makes catches that sometimes look as if they shouldn't be made. Parcells needs to make him carry a ball 24/7 like epps in "The Program" until he learns how to keep from putting iton the ground. JJ really covered for him today.

I really like all of our young receivers, and I don't mean that like a homer.

We have probably all heard the analogy before that receivers are like two-guards in the NBA. You can always find a pretty good one. If you have a QB that delivers the ball on time and is accurate, a lot of receivers look good.

I like the toughness and grot from these young receivers though.

Crayton has benefitted from all the coverage rolled over to TO.

He'll be a fine #3 WR. Not sure he's ready to take the #2 spot.

Then again, 103 yards is nothing to shake a hat at. :)

I think it may be time for Crayton to teach TO how to catch.

I agree. I think he's a career No. 3. But a seemingly good one if he continues on his current path.

Could be wrong, but I think making him a No. 2 would weaken the second and third spots at receiver. Good slot receivers aren't easy to find, and I think we found one.

Crayton definately has nice hands and a knack for getting open, but he holds the ball like its a kitten and makes me very nervous. He's also pretty boring as a punt returner. He made a beeline for the sideline today on a return that easily could've netted another five yards. I'll certainly take his production for a 7th rounder, but he hasn't developed like I thought he would. Maybe T.O. is sucking away his life force...

Eh, other than your assessment of him as a punt returner, I can't really agree.

He had a career game today -- following one of his better games last week -- and he's had his "life force" sucked away? Don't see it, sorry.

We'll see. We beat the Cardinals today. He's been far from consistent since his injury. I just hoped for more from him.

How many times has he been inconsistent as a receiver? Now, I could be overlooking something, but I can't recall many drops, poor blocks or penalties.

Looking at his stats, it looks like he's got about 360 yards and 3 TDs this year. Not sure I expected any more from the third wideout.

Coming in to today, 13 of his 17 receptions had gone for first downs.

I don't ever see him being a game breaker. But, to me, he has seemed fairly consistent.

Production- game in and game out?

Dale, I've been around here long enough not to get into a pissing match with you about stats. And one could argue that there is no expectation of consistency for a third receiver (fourth if you include Witten). But he had four catches in his first four games (zero catches in two of them).

He was a third-down converting machine before the injury and he'd simply won me over as someone who could be a great #2. T.O. came and his role is what it is. I was at the game today and saw he played well and filled the void left by Glenn. Good for us.

I think part of the problem has been who has been behind the center.

Funny how Romo comes in and Witten Production goes way up Crayton Production goes way up. The oline olays better not great but better.

Heck even TO's production has gone up

Well...
with Romo playing like he is...we probably don't have to take a 1st round QB
with Glenn looking like he may be finished...do we take a WR?
What about Hurd, Crayton, Austin, etc?
Maybe a Ted Ginn to solve our KR/PR problems?
Perhaps we get a Steve Breaston purely for STs in late 2 or early 3 instead of Ginn?
Perhaps we take OT Jake Long from Michigan in round 1?
I think we probably go for OL round 1 but there are so many STUD WRs in this draft...I'd love to see us jump up and get someone like Calvin Johnson or a speed guy like Steve Smith.
Crayton is awfully good, but hate to rely on him as #2 full time. If Hurd plays well the rest of the season, maybe we don't even consider a WR....
Interesting to see how all that plays out.
