We all know that Patrick Crayton played a very important role in the Cowboys offense this season and would probably command a high salary for a 3rd receiver. I mean last season he started seven of the 16 games he played in and had 36 catches (28 for first down) 516 yards and 4 tds. He can be a solid 2nd receiver given the opportunity.

Free Agency starts on Friday and the Cowboys have yet to offer him a tender contract and I know the Cowboys are not going to let him go for nothing. Why havent we heard anything on Crayton or Matt Mc Briar the punter and a tender. I thought I read that they made Matt a tender offer but I havent been able to confirm it.

Your Thoughts.

I don't know what the Boys are gonna do w/ Crayton and McBriar, but Crayton is a freakin stud on Madden.

Crayton a stud in Madden???????? Yeah right.. His 87 speed is really studly. Unless you changed his attributes.

Crayton is fine at his #3 WRs spot anyway. Thats his niche. He is 28 and will be 29 soon. Little to late to be coming into your prime without being a full time starter... Draft a WR in the 1st or 2nd round or screw yourself when T.O or TG gets hurt this year.

In case you haven't noticed, everyone is a little busy right now. RFA tenders usually happen at the last minute if no long term deal has been worked out. Right now everyone is at the combine but once they get back, Colombo, Crayton, and McBriar will become the focus and deals will get done or tenders offered. Don't worry about it until next Friday!

I didn't say he was the fastest on Madden, but he never drops any passes, unlike "the player."

I don't think they've announced any of their tenders yet, but I'll bet that they've already settled on what level they're gonna tender their free agents at... I've read that in McBriar's case, they're trying hard to get him signed before free agency starts, but if they can't get it done, they're gonna tender him at 1.3 million, which would net them a second round pick if Mat went to another team... can't see any team ponying up a second rounder AND something over 1.5 million a year for a punter, even one as good as McBriar...

Thw way I understand it FA starts at midnight on March 2. Understand that Jerry & Stephen Jones arrived at the Combine on Friday and I assume they'll stay until Monday, so there is time to get the signings done and tenders offerred before FA officialy starts. The only problem would seem to be that some teams contact the players' agents and maybe offers are already put on the table. Anyway frankly, if Colombo doesn't already have an offer in the ball park of what he wants, I would say the odds are against our being able to make an attractive enough one to him to get his signature before midnight. Not too worried about the tenders cause I assume Cowboys know definitely what they prepared to pay & negotiations not necessary.

Who cares how they are in Madden? If you are basing what a player can contribute to the team by his Madden skills then I seriously question your football intelligence.

The updated rosters on Madden have Clayton as a 80 overall with the same speed as "the player" (93)

I don't get it! That is so stupid...get into the REAL world!

Yeah, have fun playing the game, but, man, don't come here saying, "Well, on Madden T.O. drops passes and Crayton don't....so Crayton is better"!

Stuff like baffels me...

"Hey, let's get so and so because on Madden he is a 98 and can run down any NFL reciever, plus, Madden says his crap don't stink...let's sign him up now! it's on my Madden"!!

im sure this has since been pointed out but Crayton is a beast in Madden because his CTH (catch) rating is so high he never drops passes which makes him a perfect target on 3rd down.

You guys totally blow the Madden thing out of the water, guaranteed, every time. Nobody even said anything about signing a free agent because he was good on Madden - they just said on Madden, he's a beast - in which he is. Nobody said re-sign him because he's good on Madden - because quite frankly, they can do that themselves. They don't need the Cowboys to do that. You guys blow this Madden thing out of proportion EVERY single time. It's a hobby, like fishing, racing, or whatever most of us are into.

That makes more sense than people saying, "I just made this trade on Madden.....get it done Jerry!"

That one baffles me.

:laugh2: yeah. Any attempt to make a real correlation between what happens on Madden and what it should mean in real life makes me laugh.
